This is the swap you need to join to participate in our Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017, online write-in.This is our sixth year of holding this NaNoWriMo event!

How it works

Join the swap. Please don't delay in this step. I need to know exactly who is in the swap because there are items I need to snail mail to all participants before the write-in. These are items that you'll need during the event and they need time to get to international participants.

Note: I will have electronic "backups" of the goodies for everyone, just in case the mail doesn't get to them in time.

We have word wars and a few games, and there are prizes!

Come write-in

Our actual event takes place from 3 p.m-5 p.m (U.S Eastern time) in the NaNoWriMo Swapping Group Forum. (New to the format? See the 2014 thread for how it works.)

We hold the write-in at this time in order to accommodate as many group members as possible. It's very early a.m. for Australia/New Zealand, but afternoon, midday for others, and not too late evening for Europe.

I will create the thread for the actual write-in a couple of days before the event.

How do I rate my partner?

This is basically an electronic swap. Rate your partner a 5 after he/she signs in to the event on the write-in thread with a hello message.

If you'd like to snail mail your partner a NaNo greeting, feel free. But that is not required.

You DO NOT have to stay the entire two hours. You can come write-in as long as you'd like. But you DO need to post a hello at some point during the event to be rated a 5.
