March Goddess - HERA (don't worry doll)

Our Goddess art for the month of March is Hera. Her feast is on March 10.

Hera rules the Earth & the hearts of its people. While Her marriage to Zeus was filled with stress, at one time She was a wild & free girl, a woman who fell in love, a survivor rather than a victim. She is the protector of all women. She is the archetype for Love, Romance, Forgiveness; and Humor. As with all women, Hera goes through the stages and becomes the Crone or older woman too.

Hera means Lady, and She is our hera / hero. She is very passionate about family. One of Her faithful birds is the peacock related to watchfulness. It seems that there was a worrisome part to Her which makes sense. Sometimes we become fearful that something will happen to people we love. Uncontrolled fears keep us up at night, distract us from our life and pull us into stress. Notice the scorpion? Her stress and worry gets so bad, She becomes bitter, resentful and goes on the attack. We are capable of this.

To honor Her, we stop the cycle of anxiety. We create a magickal tool. This doll.

For this swap, we are creating a 'don't worry doll'. They are quite small and easy for a beginner and end up being only 2.5" tall. Supplies are suggested, but you can use anything on hand to make the 'don't worry doll' for your partner. Its a little hand sewing and a little glue.

The doll is meant to be small enough to tuck inside a pocket, a purse or tote, or inside a nightstand drawer. Putting your hand around it when you are worried about someone you love, reminds you 'don't worry, doll, everything will be okay'.

Send on time so your partner can honor Hera. Use the suggested pattern and make it into a magickal tool using what you have for fabrics and using your skills. Put the intention into it. Rate when you receive it and use it to help you when you start to worry. Hera is there for your protection.
