Dirty Santa Magic Yarn Ball

I've decided to smoosh together two loves of mine: re-gifting & yarn :-)

Ok, elaboration: Every Holiday season I receive a few items that I will never use or just don't "fit" me. I generally don't return them because...well, I guess laziness or just not wanting to deal w/ Wal-mart (I hate the place!)

So, this year I decided that I would send off those goodies that weren't exactly my style...and put them in a magic yarn ball. Magic yarn ball you say? Well, here is the quick explanation: Basically, you wrap cool little treasures up in a ball of yarn, and give it as a gift. As the recipient crafts with the yarn the treasures fall out one by one, and they discover the fun as they knit or crochet or whatever.

So, as the holidays commence and Aunt Josie gives you the pink flamingo earrings that have creepy eyes and Cousin Bert, that is related to you in some fashion you'll never understand, gives you a tin of horehound candy that has a picture of gnomes doing some primitive hop-scotch dance (seriously, I would so keep that!)...put it aside and save it for this swap. Then go get some fabulous yarn (check your partners profile for fav color) and wrap these goodies up. Oh, and swap stuff from previous swaps is OK, too. I've got a swap drawer that has stuff in it that is very nice....just not me. No hurt feelings...this swap is about sending off something that you don't like that someone else may LOVE. If anyone gets the gnome candy, better send it to me!

Guidelines

• at least 10 items (and they can be from previous swaps, too)

• a nice quality of yarn, LYS (local yarn store) or equivalent (since we're not spending anything for the goodies, splurge on the yarn...but not over $10.00)

• Members in good standing, only. If there is a past issue unresolved, I will ban ...please don't join if you don't plan to send...or if you know you are over-extended, don't add one more. I promise to have more MYB (magic yarn ball) swaps in the future....I love me some MYB!

Have fun this Holiday and maybe you'll get a fab MYB filled w/ craziness. Or maybe something to give to Cousin Bert next season!
