International Day of Friendship is an International holiday which has been celebrated annually on July 30th since 2011. It was created in the hopes that the fostering of friendship between different peoples, cultures, and countries will inspire peace throughout the world.

In 1935, the United States Congress, proclaimed the first Sunday of August as National Friendship Day. Following the popularity and success of Friendship Day in the US, several other countries adopted the tradition of dedicating a day to friends. Friendship Day is celebrated by several countries around the world.

In 1997, the United Nations named Winnie the Pooh as the world's Ambassador of Friendship.

With that thought in mind, let's make a friend! you will be assigned 2 partners. Look at their profile and find a card you feel will interest them. if they do not give any hints pick a card you would like to receive and on the back introduce yourself and tell a bit about yourself, Write your return address somewhere on the card and just maybe you will get a card back in the mail!

Pick a postcard that you think your partner will enjoy (check their profile for hints) just do your best there it is senders choice. Write in response to the prompt above, stamp and send (naked written/stamped) the card off. If your partner prefers cards sent in an envelope you may do that but it MUST be written on.

Please remember to rate your partner. If you receive any postcard within swap rules, it is a 5 even if you do not like the postcard. Give your partner time to send your card AND contact them before rating a 3 or 1 to allow the person to fix any problems that may arise. Hearts are yours to give or not give as you see fit. Treat your partner as you would wish to be treated.
