Stephen King Fans! #3

I hosted this swap two times earlier this year, and had several requests to do a repeat. If you joined either of the original swaps and wish to join again, we'd be happy to have you! :) Even if you get the same partner again there's always more to say about Stephen King, isn't there? :) Plus, his new book, Elevation, is going to be released October 30th, so maybe you can speed-read and comment! :)

This swap will be International, and you will have one partner. :)

If you've never read a Stephen King book, or if you're not a fan of his writing, this isn't the swap for you! This swap is geared for those of us who have read, listened to King's works, and are fans of his work.

The swap:

I am a Stephen King fan. I'm not in love with everything he writes, but I've read them all (at least once), and we share the books as a family to such a degree that we call him "Uncle Steve" in our house! This is a flat mail swap, just a letter or a card, and will be a fairly quick turn around. You will have 1 partner, and the swap is International, as Mr King has fans world wide. :)

Talk to your partner about Uncle Steve's books, your thoughts on his books, your favorites, and the ones you don't really like. How you tell your partner is up to you. To meet minimum requirements, you should send a letter (typed or handwritten) to your partner talking about your thoughts on Stephen Kings' books.

Some questions to consider (but not required):

How were you introduced to Stephen King's books. Do you have any favorites? Or are there some you don't really like? Why?

Do you collect all the books you read?

Have you listened to any on audio book?

Do you have a favorite narrator for his books?

Have you ever attended a talk he has given about his books, or been to a book signing?

What about the Dark Tower series? Have you read it, what did you think?

Are you a fan of the movies that have been made from his books, or the TV shows? Do you have a favorite? Please share! :)

The questions above are just suggestions to get your thoughts moving, you don't have to answer them all - or, really, any of them. Just tell your partner how you first "met" Stephen King, talk about favorites, etc. You know, fan talk. :) The letter about "fan talk" for Uncle Steve is the only requirement for the swap. Envelope art, tuck in's, etc, are up to the sender. This swap isn't profile based, so you can work on it ahead of time, if you wish.

Be sure to include the name of the swap and your swap-bot ID on the letter or in the envelope. Send on time! If you are going to be late, please communicate! When you receive your swap, please rate your partner.

I'm going to do a manual rating on this one, checking over profiles. If you have a rating under 4.98 please be sure you've addressed the reasons on your profile - comment about any 1's or 3's. You need to be signed in to swap-bot at least 2 days before the swap sign up ends.

New swappers are welcome, but your profile needs to be well filled out. that means several sections of information. If I have any questions about your profile or ratings, I will send you a message - if you don't reply, you will be banned from the swap. Communication is key!

If you are concerned about getting the same partner again consider focusing on the book you most recently read by Sai King, the book you enjoyed the most, or the one you liked the least. :) It is, of course, up to you, but I hope you consider joining again.

Assigning partners & communication

I want to be clear here, I assign partners usually before noon the day after sign up ends. If I have a question about your profile, or if you have not signed in, or replied to my message, you'll get banned from the swap. I don't want to delay assigning partners for everyone while waiting on one person. If you are concerned that you might be banned or your profile isn't good enough, if you can't sign in w/in a few days of the sign up - just send me a PM!
