So the postcards need to be printed, they cannot be hand written? Sorry if this is a lame question, I haven't done one of these swaps before! :)

No, he means you can design & print your own postcards - the FRONT. You still write the note on the back however you want.

you can make it a hand made postcard. just mail it as a postcard
