Description:

Happy Valentines our dear Georgettes,

In celebration of the opening of our Lending Library that dear Miss Jane Meryvale and her two esteemed Ladies as companions, plus a wonderful supporting staff, have put forth to educate the populace of Amberleigh and her surrounding hamlets. Mrs Leandrea Wallis came up with the notion of a bookmark to mark this special occasion.

For this at home, we are to make our partner a special heart shape book mark to reserve the corner of our page, in an elegant style. Please choose a suitable era fabric, like the one in our image above. To give your at home partner the feeling of sitting by her panelled window and thinking of you while reading.

The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. You can choose to use a sewing machine like the lady in the video, or hand stitch it like I shall be doing.

Two extra steps that I would like you to do that will differ slightly from what the lady does. is #1 to iron on some interfacing onto the back of the first front heart, before you cut out the heart shape, this will help keep the heart shape stiff. Also, #2 after you have clipped around the heart for ease of turning, then CUT BACK HALF the SEAM ALLOWANCE to make it half its width, as this will preserve the integrity of the heart and keep it smooth and flat once turned through. Do iron the whole turned piece flat for sending, it will take up much less room in an envelope.

If you need me to describe the process if you are without youtube access, let me know and I will write it long hand for you in email.

I hope you will enjoy making this keepsake. It is a lovely idea to place as a little gifting to family and friends aswell.

Fondly, Jane, Anna and Nickalli
