The first swap in this series was so specific...with one historical figure featured. Going forward, I'm broadening the field a bit, and have chosen a "Civil War Mothers" theme. Pick a side...either side...or choose to represent mothers on both sides of the battle. This isn't about ideology or politics...it's about mothers sending their sons (just boys, in most cases) off to war. We're using a 4x6-inch format for this series, and the backing should be something firm yet flexible (able to be glued or otherwise attached to an existing journal), such as a piece of manila file folder or heavy cardstock. Even a lightweight cardboard (such as from a cracker or cereal box) will work. Civil war mothers...how I wish the struggle ended with you.
