Mid-Winter Missive

Dear Ladies,

Letter writing was an essential part of Georgian life, helping families and friends to stay in contact with one another. Let us practice the fine art of letter writing composing a letter to our partners. It should be at least both sides of a standard letter sized paper (5 x 7 or A5) and we will embellish it a little. Let your embellishing reflect your mood, draw something seasonal or paint a border, add a pretty picture to brighten your partner’s day. The decoration is up to you, but does not have to be overly ornate, just something subtle to add a little prettiness. In your letter, please dedicate one paragraph to your character, telling, perhaps, what she is sewing, or baking. Tell of her plans for her garden or of a letter she has received. Just a little something about your character of interest.

We will just have one partner for this swap, to write a nice letter and devote one paragraph to our character. A little drawing, painting or collage should be added as decoration, but let’s keep this flat so the postage is minimal.
