Description:

This swap will be retiring soon. Please see the updated instructions at the bottom.

😃 Round #17 It is possible that some PCs might begin to make their way home at this point. Please comment if you received your PC back and also comment if you are sending or have received a Pen Pal correspondence related to this swap.

This swap is a combination of a traveling postcard swap and a Pen Pal exchange swap.

The Traveling PC Part: Please pick out any postcard of your choosing (one that will fit in a regular size envelope, please). PC can be home made, ugly, freebie, etc because you will eventually get it back so no restrictions here, just so long as it is sturdy enough to eventually be sent home later. Write your name and address on the "to" side of the PC and add appropriate postage. On the message side please write the FULL name of the swap and the date you started your card. Put it in an envelope and send it to your partner. Please add a little extra note with the swap name, round number, your name, etc so there is no confusion when rating.

When you receive your PC from your partner you will neatly write your name and address in the message part, or put on an address label and hold it until the next round of the swap, where you will pass it along to your next partner. For each of the following rounds, you will continue to add your address to each of the cards you receive before sending them along to your next partner. Whoever is the last to fit in their address on the message side mails the PC home to its original sender without an envelope.

The Pen Pal Part Once you have received your postcard home, it should have 4-5 addresses on it to which you can reply with a PC or letter and start a Pen Pal exchange. Also because you will be sending and receiving a new PC each round, you can also send a reply to anyone who's name/address you saw on the message side of someone else's PC if you so wish. Anytime you send a reply please make a note that it is a reply related to this swap and not part of the actual swap itself. For example: "Hi Matilda, I got your address from the Traveling Pen Pal Postcard Swap and I wanted to say Hi. Here's a little bit about me...if you'd like to be pen pals, you can send me a note at Name, Address, State Zip."

Other Details Make sure to write in your swap-bot name with your address label so that your partners can look you up on the swap-bot site to read your profile if they choose.

Instructions for Retirement: This swap will have 3 more rounds with the final round being No. 20. That will give enough time for any of the currently traveling cards to complete their rounds and head home. You may continue to start new cards if you wish, but be aware that all cards still traveling at round #20 will be sent home regardless of how many names are on them. So it is up to you. Please continue to rate appropriately. It is very important that we all follow the deadlines since this will be ending soon. ALSO do NOT send half empty cards home unless it is Round 20. If you sign up for a round you must complete it as usual and still send something to your partners (With the exception of Round #20) Once we get to Round 20, fill out any remaining PCs and send them home. But because you still need to send something to your partner to be rated, you will send either a letter or a postcard just as you would to a new penpal. Please be clear to your partner so they will know to rate you for that round.
