POSTAGE INCREASE JANUARY 22ND Postage rates are going up January 22nd, 2023. Postcards sent within the USA are going up to 48-cents. The First class rate (for postcards larger than 4-inches by 6-inches) will be 63-cents. The international rate will be $1.45 for all postcards up to 6.125-inches by 11.5-inches.

REMINDER Please contact your swap partner first to try to work out any issues. If the two of you can't get things back on track, then let me know and I'll see what I can do.

This is a Cardboard Postcard swap (CBPC). You will send one postcard. Do not use an envelope.

The postcard should be made out of ANY kind of reused cardboard saved from the trash/recycling. Please use only CLEAN cardboard. Additional decoration is sender's choice, and is strictly optional - only a chunk o' cardboard is required. Please include a short message to your partner - it's optional, but more fun don't you think?

The maximum postcard size which can be sent for the postcard rate is 4-1/4" x 6" (USA only - international rules may vary).

The maximum postcard size which can be sent for the first class letter rate is 6-1/8" x 11-1/2" (USA only - international rules may vary).

Thick or irregular-size postcards require extra postage. Please check with your post office so that your partner is not on the hook for postage due.

If you have any questions, please PM me - I don't check the comments often.

Some Housekeeping Info

Thanks so much for joining my swaps! It's a lot fun for me. They've grown in size to the point where I need to take some steps to control the amount of time that it takes to manage them. I want to keep it light-hearted. Please remember what's at stake here is a few pieces of cardboard (or anything close to it), so don't overthink it!

  • This is not a Profile Swap The Chunk O Cardboards swaps are Senders Choice. In order to prevent issues, you might be removed from the swap if your profile includes special requirements that are potentially incompatible.

  • Communicate Communicate Communicate Please contact your swap partner first to try to work out any issues. If you have a question or problem, please let your partner know and give them a chance to respond. If you can't resolve the issue, then let me know and I'll do what I can to help work it out.

  • Senders Please send your items on time and remember to mark your swap as "sent". Please let your partner know if you are going to send late. Many swappers won't mind a bit of delay as long as you keep people informed. Before assigning partners for future swaps, I will remove anyone has not marked an item "sent" for a previous swap. If you want to be in the next swap, then send your items and mark them as sent.

  • Recipients Please contact your swap partner first to try to work out any issues. If you haven't received anything a week or two after the swap deadline, please let your partner know. If you still don't receive an item (or a satisfactory response), leave a "1" rating then contact me to send an angel replacement. Accurate ratings are the only way I can weed out unreliable senders from future swaps. And that's good for everyone.

Is a square of, for example, 4.5 inches by 4.5 inches also allowed for this swap? Or should it be a rectangular postcard?

findeerror 01/14/2023 #

USPS site says: "Square, oversized, or unusually shaped envelope stamps start at $0.99."

In my experience, anything square cost extra because it can't be run through the machines the same way as regular postcards and letters. Might want to check with your local post office for sure.

In the Netherlands the format doesn't matter. Square or rectangular doesn't matter. Our post office look at the weight. Up to 20 grams is 1 stamp

Square is fine - in fact, it's more fun! Just as long as, as @findeerror mentioned, you use sufficient postage.
