I collect: very small boxes, pine cones, tiny crèches, wooden bowls, & any very tiny items I find cute. My collections only contain items I adore. The boxes are in a beautiful wooden wall case; the crèches go on the mantel at Christmas time, other small items go in wooden bowls.

The five things I collect are:

  • Happy Planner Paper and Stickers

  • Greeting Cards (I could probably start a store with the ones I have!)

  • Papers (and LOTS of them!!) A good many of them are pieces of paper, index cards and post-it notes with "NOTES TO MYSELF" on them. No ... this was NOT intended to be a collection but it sure seems like that is what it is.

  • Yarn (I'm certain that I would not have to buy any more of it for at least 5 years and I use yarn DAILY!) So, yes I have A LOT of it.

  • Bibles (as I always seem to find a different one from what I already have and I can't help myself from buying it) but right now, I'm at the point of "I've got way more than enough now and need no more!"

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I do have one other collection but it's truly not my favorite one ...

IT

IS

WHAT

YOU

WOULD

CALL

D - U - S - T! 😂🤣😂

I am terrible at dusting and to be honest, I normally don't even notice it until it's to where my black TV stand is really not looking all that black anymore. So yeah, this was NOT an intentional collection at all. 😀

Now, to be honest ... NOT ONE of the collections above were actually intentional, however, years ago I did used to collect some things but no longer do (too much to dust them all!)

  1. Carousels (I do one of them now and that is in my curio cabinet)

  2. Troll dolls (Again, I have one small one now but did used to have a collection of them at one point in time.)

  3. Snow Globes (I used to collect these but no longer do and actually I don't have any at this point but am thinking of buying at least one of them again ... but it would have to be one that I really and truly loved, not just any snow globe just so I'd have one, it'd have to be special!)

Okay friends, that's it about me and the things I collect! 😀 I'm looking forward to hearing about your collections and also if they were intentional or not. Have a good day! 🌹🌹🌹

@VAgardengirlgirl Your collections sound lovely! I think I would be way happier if I were to collect "tiny" things as they'd take up much less room than my current ones do. 😂

I used to collect many things but I am now trying to live a more minimalist lifestyle.
Collect books. mainly first edition Enid Blyton books. Old children and teenage books that I used to read when I was a child/teenage. Recently started collecting Royal Albert China like cups and saucers. Photos of my ancestors as I do my family history. Book marks. Just happens that I get a lot of mail around the world so I have a lot of used postage stamps that I usually give to other stamp collectors as I no longer keep them.

5 things that I collect are:

  • Books. My TBR list is looooong, plus I've accumulated even more books since starting homeschooling my kids.

  • Fun fridge magnets. I have some tiny ones in the shape of succulents, some from places I've traveled, some with family photos on them, and so many more!

  • Anything sentimental to me. Cards with sweet notes inside, ticket stubs to movies or concerts, invitations to weddings and special events, all kinds of little souvenirs like that.

  • Willow Tree angels and figurines.

  • Games of all kinds. I love playing card games and board games and such with my family.

NOTE: I changed the dates on this swap. It is now from January 23 through JANUARY 26th. There is only one person who has signed up and hasn't posted her list as of yet and I just sent her an Swap-bot message to let her know. (Normally I don't change dates like this but this time I did.)

Anyways, I wanted to let everyone know but it pretty much won't affect anyone else (other than the few people who were watching the swap and if they should read this and come here after partners were assigned, I want to truly apologize to them.

annim 01/23/2024 #

I collect fridge magnets from the places we go, abroad or just inside UK. I don't want people to send me magnets though as I only buy them from where we go to.

Miniature Harry Potter POP figurines. They're from Christmas Calendars.

Children's shoes...I don't want to collect these but it seems that they are breeding.

Stickers, I have a pretty big collection of stickers. I try to stop myself from buying more but they're just so cute.

Wasgij -puzzles. I don't buy them anymore as I haven't got time to do puzzles at the moment. But I have quite a few of these and I love them!

kpcreations 01/23/2024 #

I am a magpie at heart and absolutely adore collecting small treasures. Here are some of my collections:

  • Pusheen items! Many are plushies, but also figurines and various home decor

  • Stickers! I use them for journaling and swaps. It's so satisfying to have just the right sticker for a project

  • Yarn! All of the beautiful textures and colours are irresistible, especially now that I crochet

  • Art! I have a large collection of paintings, framed embroidery, art prints, and other beautiful pieces around my home. My favourite is getting art when I travel as a souvenir

  • Mugs! I see mugs as functional art. I have many handmade pieces I display proudly in my kitchen and use regularly

Oh my goodness. I can relate to so many of you with my collections. Some of them started unintentionally and I never thought that it could be classified as a "collection" until I saw some of the comments.
1. Bibles - it started unintentionally as I either bought or received various Bible translation. So in the end, I have various English Bible Translations, various Afrikaans translations as well as an Dutch one that I also read.
2. Books - I have always loved reading and of course I own a lot of books. Some were gifts, some I got from my mom, some from people that gave them away and some I bought from a lady that got rid of all her books.
3. Pens - This is my down fall. I cannot walk past the pen isle in a shop without going down the isle and having a look at the pens. I have so many pens. If you open a desk drawer, there is pens in. My colleagues know that if they want to get anything for me, they just need to buy pens.
4. Journal books - This is an absolute unintentional collection. I only realized how many journals I have once I repacked my book shelf above my writing desk at home.
5. Stickers - Another one of my downfalls.... And then Shein has so many lovely stickers that isn't that expensive as well. At least I can share this with my mother as well.
6. Adult coloring books - I love this as I can use this in my Junk Journaling as well.
7. LPs/CDs/Tapes - I absolutely love listening to music and I just love getting to choose whether I would like to listen to LPs or CDs or tapes. Luckily I have a radio that can play all of them.
8. Yarn - I am a sucker for lovely colored wool. I enjoy crocheting and knitting.
9. Knitting/crocheting patterns - I love collecting patterns as it gives me ideas of what I can crochet or knit.
10. Memories - Some people might wonder what I mean by saying this. Memories to my, means anything from photos, cut outs - anything that can be captured and used in a junk journal.

OK. I think that I am going to stop here. My list is getting wayyyy to looooong now.

I collect: anything Winnie the Pooh, Pugs, cats & trains I also collect from my travels: postcards, keychains & magnets I collect stickers, although my daughter would say it’s a hoard!! Same thing with Washi tape…. I love that stuff!!! Coffee mugs is something that seems to accumulate, and I don’t even like coffee, but I do use them for hot chocolate!! Recipes….. OMG….. if I had a dime for every recipe I have clipped or saved…. I’d be a billionaire!!! Lol. I think that’s about all…aside from the usual stuff everyone has… pens, clutter and dust!!! Happy collecting everyone!!

03Scarlett 01/25/2024 #

@Apelser - I read your collections and with the Bibles, I was wondering ... Is your Dutch Bible in the Dutch language or in English? I am so impressed that you are bi-lingual at all and think it's awesome!

I know English only (period!) Well, when I was in high school I did take at least one year of French but remember very little of it. I can say ... hello, goodbye, how are you, I'm very fine, I'm so-so. And the phrase I'm going to French class. Oh wait and I can count to 15 with the exception of 7 and 8 and apparently I've forgotten those (I just did a google search and I had gotten all the rest of the counting right.) Oh well, hey - in my defense, it's been roughly 53 or 54 years ago since I was in French class! 🤣

As for your list being too long ... it was perfect! And we do share quite a few of the same ones though I didn't list memories, it is also something I collect as well (if not on paper, for sure in my head!) And I do junk journals as well!

@Rosie2766 - I know what you mean about coffee mugs about how they seem to accumulate but since I don't have a lot of cupboard space in my kitchen, I usually don't have a hard time in getting rid of those. Too darned bad I have a hard time getting rid of the other stuff though. 😂

I had to laugh when you mentioned about you could be a billionaire with the recipes cut out collections. I was never one for recipes but my friend Christine has over the years cut out probably zillions of them like you have and for the past at least two years she as been working on sorting them out and keeping only a few of those she will actually try. Well, she has thrown some out and made a bit of progress but still has A LOT more to go through. (The thing is, I know her and honestly she doesn't really like cooking and I can't picture her actually making any of the ones she does keep! 😂)
