New MAJs (if you don't have an established MAJ that you can pass along):

Make a 1-page booklet using a sheet of letter size 8.5"x11" paper. Regular printer paper works fine for these booklets. Sturdy enough to glue or draw onto yet lightweight for folding.

It will be an open theme journal/booklet, that way there's more opportunity to use our hand carved stamps.

Decorate the cover and back page with your hand carved stamp(s). You can also use other embellishments but keep the embellishments flat so everyone can use regular lettermail postage. Then pass it on to your partner, who will stamp the first page and pass it on in another MAJ swap. And so on and so on until the MAJ is full. The person who fills the last page then mails it back to the MAJ creator.

Since we are a small group, I'm encouraging everyone to fill a 2-page spread.

In order for the filled booklet to be returned to you, you will need to write your Swap-Bot username, and email address on the back cover page (and your mailing address if you want to). You can also put it on the inside cover page (for good measure).

Note:

Always send a MAJ on even if you decide not to participate any longer in MAJ (or Deco) swaps. At the very least, send it to me the coordinator @9o96o (PO Box 31013 Willowwest, Guelph, Ontario N1H 8K1, Canada) and I will keep it in play. That way everyone should eventually get their MAJ back. If you get a last page MAJ, fill in the last page and mail it to the creator of the MAJ and make a new MAJ to send to your partner.

The goal is to have pages filled out by different artists, and then sent home to the originator.

2 page spread. Since we are a small group, I'm going to encourage us to fill a 2-page spread. *This might not be possible for established MAJs if half of a 2-page spread has already been filled.***

In upcoming swaps if you are assigned the MAJ originator as a partner, or your partner has already filled a page, do not send them the MAJ, start a new one. But hold onto the other MAJ for another round so can get it circulating again. Remember, if you don't think you'll be participating in more rounds, send the MAJ to me and I'll keep it/them circulating.

No blank comments when rating your partner.

Discussion

This will be the last HCSI MAJ swap because it's become harder to fill a MAJ given that there are usually not enough swappers to fill 6 pages.

I recommend that we use our unfinished MAJs in our possession in other deco swaps, but check with the owner/creator to see if it's OK with them. Otherwise return the unfinished MAJ to the owner/creator.

Thanks everyone. The MAJ deco series is now over. I hope to see your work in the other HCSI swaps. :)
