Vintage Envelopes

For this swap, we’ll combine 2 of my current favorites - handmade envelopes and vintage ephemera!

Here’s how it goes:

• make a vintage envelope (mailable-sized) from anything that wasn’t already an envelope, such as a map, magazine, book or any other piece(s) of REAL vintage ephemera - see below. (If the envelope is too flimsy, reinforce it on the inside; the reinforcement does not have to be real vintage.)

• decorate the above envelope with at least 4 other different pieces of real vintage ephemera, in addition to other mediums such as washi, decoupage, rub-ons, texture, stickers, etc., covering at least 75% front & back

• make (or just decorate) another envelope, large enough to hold the 1st one and decorate it with any vintage-looking ephemera. Please decorate most of the envelope, front & back so that your partner will be excited to receive it. (This envelope doesn’t have to be handmade.)

• 2 envelopes to 1 partner: 1 handmade envelope, decorated with true vintage & other ephemera, sent in another vintage decorated envelope using real postage stamps to mail it

For the purpose of this swap, vintage ephemera should be from 1979 or earlier. Usual group rules apply; I’ll check profiles before assigning partners. Please PM me or post any questions in the comments. (Image is not my original work.)
