Description:

Postage on these will be very cheap to send basically anywhere in the world, so I want to invite all our international friends to join in on this one:)))

I have been collecting 1.5" squares for the past couple of years to make a future postage stamp quilt, but still have a long way to go getting enough:)

For this swap you will send 40 1.5" fabric squares to 2 partners for a total of 80 squares. Please only send 100% cotton fabric!!!You can send up to 2 squares alike that are the same print/design to each partner, but please no more than 2 that are alike. In other words, you will need atleast 20 different fabrics. The squares you send can me any prints, colors, stripes, plaids, novelty, etc. You can even send a few solids if you'd like, but let's limit the solids to no more than 10 different solid colors to each partner.

These tiny squares are a great way to use up some of those scraps you have laying around:)) Postage stamp squares are wonderful for making anything from a small 5" x 5" quiltie to a quilt large enough for your king-size bed:)) They are also great for making purses, totebags, fabric postcards or anything else you can think of:))

To participate in this swap you must have a rating of 4.8 with no recent unexplained 1 or 3 ratings. Newbies must have been rated on 2 snail mail swaps with a rating of 5 and must have a well filled out profile. Postcard/recipe/email swaps do not count toward this total.

Heaven forebid someone flakes on this swap, I will plan on angeling:) On the other hand I will do my best to keep flakers out so that this will be an enjoyable swap for all:)))

If this goes over well, I am planning on hosting several monthly rounds to help us finish up our collection of squares so we can all get busy and make our quilts:)))

Out of curiousity, by different types of fabric do you mean cotton, muslin, etc or do you mean brand names?

Sorry for my noobishness!!!

bettflow09 07/ 1/2009 #

@Doodlebabe I should have stated it more clear what I meant. I will edit the swap details and rephrase this. We need to send 100% cotton fabric. What I mean by different types I mean different prints, plaids, stripes, etc. Sorry about the confusion!

it is a lot of fun to do this swap

I meant to add this note in the swap description. If less than 5 people sign up I will be cancelling this swap. Needless to say, keeping fingers crossed that we have lots more join:)))

Can you confirm... Are the squares just loose? In other words, we should not sew them together?

Thanks!

bettflow09 07/16/2009 #

Right @Carolyne you can put the squares in a baggie, or tie them with ribbon or however you want to send them. They are not to be sewn together.
