Description:

This swap falls into my 'other cool stuff' category, & it's your license to get as creative as you like! This time, start with a 'large' (250ct) matchbox, either store-bought or make your own (*see end of description).

Then the fun starts! Your challenge is to make some kind of kit to fit inside the matchbox. It could be anything - a craft kit, a holiday survival kit, a relaxation kit – use your imagination! You will need to find, buy or make at least 4 items (small enough to fit inside your matchbox), then add a note or booklet (also small enough to fit the matchbox!) to clearly explain how your kit works.

3 partners = 3 mini kits in total.

This is a group swap for members of Zines, Mail Art & other cool stuff. I've checked people's ratings as they've joined the group, but I will check through again before partners are assigned, to do my best to avoid disappointment in this swap. Please only sign up if you have both the time & inclination to complete the swap!

I found that 250ct matchboxes vary a lot. In fact, in the UK, this does not seem to be a common matchbox size at all - but I have bought boxes for 220ct & 240ct that are similar in dimension to the templates I found:

Deb Duz Scrappin Template - measures approx. 2.6 x 5.5 x 9cm.

HelenJoy's Swap Bot Template - measures 3 x 7 x 12cm (this is the size of a standard size box of UK 'cook's matches').

What does it matter? Well, all I'm trying to say is, don't worry too much about exact dimensions of your matchbox! Let's say minimum size is 2 x 5 x 8cm and maximum is 3.5 x 7 x 12cm. Unless it's very obviously a 32ct box or a shoebox, please don't rate down your partner for slight variations in box size!

Great idea! I like surprises, but things I definitely would like would be a "Time for mom-kit", a sewing-kit, or a "survive the kids-kit"...LOL can you tell I'm glad it's almost bed-time here?
