Description:

Wikipedia's definition of ZINE: "A zine is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. More broadly, the term encompasses any self-published work of minority interest usually reproduced via photocopier on a variety of colored paper stock. Zines are written in a variety of formats, from computer-printed text to comics to handwritten text (an example being Cometbus). Print remains the most popular zine format, usually photo-copied with a small circulation. Topics covered are broad, including fanfiction, politics, art and design, ephemera, personal journals, social theory, single topic obsession, or sexual content far enough outside of the mainstream to be prohibitive of inclusion in more traditional media. The time and materials necessary to create a zine are seldom matched by revenue from sale of zines."

This is a simple swap but requires some hardcore drawing/crafting work! What we're going to do is create a half-sized, or quarter sized art and/or comics zine, make copies, and then swap! Experienced zinesters and people new to the zining world are welcome. 4.8+ rating required, and newbies are welcome with a well filled out profile. NO FLAKERS PLEASE, I am able to angel but I would REALLY prefer not to....I've given over a month for each swapper to complete this swap, so there shouldn't be a problem. Here are the requirements/guidelines for each zine:

Must be at least 6 pages minimum. It's just not fair if someone spends a lot of time of a nice hefty zine and they get something flimsy in comparison.
A swapper gets a perfect rating (and a heart, if you so desire) if they put a lot of extra effort into their project - decorated the envelope hand-coloured the cover, included an extra goodie or a minizine along with their original zine, etc.
This is should be a project that you spend a fair amount of time on, not just something you throw together in the last two days. Please don't join unless you're really into completing the project whole heartedly!
Some ideas are: Journal comics, sketchbook pages and such, a mini within the zine, drawing something that goes with poetry or literature, just regular minicomix, illustrations of people you know, etc. Those are just some ideas, you don't have to use them.

That's how the swap works. Message me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

I am going to give this a shot. I am not very artistic, but have a few ideas on what to get started on.

Cool! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

i wish it wasn't so much like a commission, but rather the zine wouldn't necessarily have to be made by the sender or something

I'm watching this for now - trying to decide if I can squeeze the time in for it. But I really want to...
