This is a super cool idea! Ive seen some cute little stockings at the local cheap store, are they alowed to be store bought? Ill watch just for now, ive got a couple of things i have to send stm, but Ill hopefully be able to join!

@VivaLaJenn they definitely CAN be store bought! For those of us with not a ton of time to make one or people like me who can't sew to save their lives, buying them is totally fine! I plan on buying mine at the store and then decorating it with puffy paint and other stuff. :)

@Chewysmommy Here is the low down on how this will work. The last day to signup or drop the swap is the 24th of November. On the 25th of November I will assign partners for the swap. Once the partners are assigned, there will be a new link available for you to click on the upper right hand corner of the page under "swap member options" that says "see the partners you send to." If you click the "see the partners you send to" link it will show who you send to, their address, and their swap name on the site. If you click their swap name on the site, which is normally blue, it will automatically take you to their profile (usually in a different

@chewysmommy continued from before...I accidentally clicked leave comment....lol....anyways, it will open their profile usually in a different window and you can see their profile info.wishlist/whatever is on their profile. You don't need to pm them and ask for ideas since you can go off of their profile, but you are more than welcome to if you want to get into more detail! :) It is good too to check this section just in case anyone does post their likes and dislikes... for example up at the very top, tj posted that she does not wish to receive craft items or atcs. But if you check her profile, it does say too that she does not want to receive any craft items...so usually peoples profiles are pretty well filled out. If you need any more help of clarification I would be happy to help! :)

If I am unable to find a stocking can I use a small santa hat instead? Stockings are very hard to find in Denmark and I don't have the talent to make one :-(

Hi Morgaine! You've probably already noticed that I have responded to your question via pm with some alternative options and ideas to solve your problem, but the short answer is that it needs to be a stocking. Sorry! :)

I would take a small Santa hat from Morgaine instead of a stocking! That sounds like a great idea and still very Christmas-y. But I understand if it is a stocking swap and someone is expecting a stocking and gets a hat, they would be like "What the heck?"

Love this! I will have two tiny stockings to fill, so if someone is flaked on I offer to angel at least one person!

For Morgaine and others who live in countries where Christmas stuff isn't as rampant (like me!) : You could probably buy a cute pair of baby socks in green, red, or, very simply, white - and either sew or glue trim such as embroidery, rickrack, ribbon, tassels, bells, and buttons on them to make two adorable mini 'stockings'.....

I want to join but I'm worried about the price of postage for international lately. I'm guessing it would be about £8 so I probs won't have it. I wonder if I could possibly start a UK only one or Europe one? xxx

I actually managed to find one in a toy store, but it is as whopping 17,5 inches long, so I will probably not be able to fill it all the way ;-)

@Morgaine ..I am glad to hear that you found one. No worries if it is not full to the top at that length! If I had known about this way ahead of time, I would have just sent you one of the two stockings I bought for this. I couldn't just buy one at that size so now I have two. Since I won't use both for this, I am thinking of also using this idea to give my roommate a cool little gift for Christmas.

@chewysmommy I had the same problem when I first joined this site. I believe that you probably have your pop-ups blocked. Normally, when you click on partners, it pops up in a different window. Try this. Go to view on your browser toolbar, then click restore last pop up window. It should open up the address for you. If you have more than one window open, usually it opens in that already opened window. Let me know if you still have any problems! :)
