Description:

I love scavenger hunts, and thought it would be fun to try and find books that fit certain criteria—colors, words, symbols, images, etc. I will continue this swap with a different set of scavenger hunt items each month.

I've had a lot of fun with these the past two months, and really appreciate everyone who has participated!!! :)

For the January swap, you will send your partner ONE book, from your own collection or from a used bookstore, thrift shop, etc. that contains all three items from the following list:

  1. In honor of the new year, books must have the word “new” somewhere on the front or back covers. It can be part of a bigger word, as in “The Shipping News,” “newlywed,” “newscaster,” etc., as long as "new" is in there somewhere.

  2. The color blue, any shade, must appear somewhere on the front or back cover.

  3. There must be either a picture or a description of a dairy product (milk, cheese, ice cream, what have you) somewhere within the pages of the book.

To recap: new, blue, and… moo? ;P

Books can be any type or genre—fiction, biography, self-help, cook books, how-to, children’s, little “gifty” books, etc. Sender’s choice, but feel free to check your partner’s profile to get ideas or avoid specific dislikes.

To recap: you will have ONE partner and send them ONE book, but it needs to have all three scavenger hunt items represented in/on it. There was some confusion with this in the first (November) swap-- some folks thought we were sending three books, one for each of the items. Nope, just one book, representing all three items. Feel free to send Media Mail (particularly if your book is quite heavy), but do not include anything else in the package, other than the note tucked inside the book!

Books can (and most likely will) be gently used, but must be readable and clean.

PLEASE include a note describing where all three items can be found (if it’s not obvious), and anything you’d like to add about the book, your reaction to it (if you've read it), etc. Half the fun of book-swapping is discussing the books with our friends! :)

Unfortunately, I have to make this one US/Canada/Mexico only… mailing books overseas, especially heavy ones, can be super- expensive. :( But feel free to start an international version if you’d like!

The legal mumbo-jumbo: No recent ones or threes— please take care of your old swaps before signing up for new ones! Newbies (with less than 5 rated snail mail swaps) welcome with fully filled-out profile, but PLEASE PM me before signing up! I will automatically ban you if you skip this step! Please don’t sign up unless you’re committed to sending!!!

Enjoy!
