Description:
This swap is for children 8-13. Each child will make 4 ATC's (2.5x 3.5 inches) for 4 different partners. (1 card for each child). The theme is anything you want it to be but just remember to do your very best drawing or collage that you can do. Send only cards that you would love to get in the mail for yourself! I felt that I needed to edit this swap because 6 partners is quite a few! The way this swap will work is that each parent will sign up for thier child. When the partners are picked you will need to go to your partner's profile and get the name of the child you will be sending to. For safety sake, please only put the first name or a fun made up name on your profile. (Giggle puss or Candy Monster would be fun to write on an addressed envelope!!) You will need to reference this swap so that we know that it is the right child we are sending six wonderful ATC's to. As your child recieves their letters with the ATC's in them, Please remember to thank the child who sent it by rating your partners. I think this swap will be both rewarding and fun. Absolutely NO FLAKERS will be allowed! We really dont want these children to be disappointed. You will need to have a 4.9 rating or higher. Newbies can join but I want a completely filled out profile. I will be checking and I will ban anyone who even looks like they might flake. This is a very important swap! Have fun kids!

Does anyone have any websites that explain how to make ATCs in a kid-friendly way? I am trying to explain to my 8 year old how to make them but I'm new myself so I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Nelliebugsdotcom. I do them with my nieces. you can do anything with atc's they can draw with markers. give them sequeins with glue, scraps of paper and stickers. try to explain any principles of design and color that you might already know. Kids are very intuitive and they already know what they like, they are un inhibited. The simplest thing to do is go out and buy a package of card stock or thick paper. cut 2.5 x 3.5 inch pieces for them. give them watercolors, crayon (crayon resist is fun) hole punches and scrapbook paper, stamps. let them go to town. sometimes it is good to explain to them that less is more. Maybe tell them to make a background (any above technique) then when its done put on a focal point either a sticker or one of thier drawings that they have cut out nicely and then some embelishment like sparkly glitter, a feather , ribbon some fringe. supply lots of materials and they will have fun. let them make 20 and have them pick their seven favorites. tell them they can have the very best one and send the others out. It makes them very proud of themselves. you can google artist trading cards and several sites will come up. flickr.com is good for scrapbook atc's and deviantart.com is good for art- hand drawn etc atc's. Ihope that helped and wasnt too long winded!

The is a website called art in your pocket that i used to learn myself. most craft stores now sell the blank card for ATC. The are so much easier for children.
