Description:

This is a HOW TO swap. I know I'm always itching to try a new craft. In this swap, you will consult your partner's profile and pick ONE new kind of craft that he/she wants to try.

You will send your partner TWO things:

  • basic instructions for creating a project. Perhaps, simple hand written instructions, a pattern, or a link to instructions online. A picture or representation of the finished product will also do. This can be picture of a similar item you've already made, a similar picture you found online, or a drawing to represent the outcome. You can also send an example,

(this doesn't have to be super specific. if it's crochet, it could just be instructions on one kind of stitch, rather than instructions on how to make a sweater.)

  • some (or all) of the tools and supplies to create the project

IMPORTANT: Before you sign up for this craft, you Must put at least 5 crafts that you would like to try into your profile. It needs to be easy to find so label it "I always wanted to try..." If you don't have this section in your profile I will have to Ban you from the swap.

Also- this seems obvious, but- you should pick a craft to teach your partner that you KNOW HOW to do. That is the point here, you are showing the other person how to do it and sending the supplies to get them started. That is also why you need to list at least 5 craft choices in your profile, so your partner will have a good chance of knowing how to teach of them.

if, in the off chance, you get a partner that requests 5 crafts you do not know how to do, you should PM them and find a compromise. As crafters, I'm sure we all have something wonderful to teach!

This craft will be open to newbies with a filled out profile and more than 1 real snailmail swap, and others with 4.8+ and no recent 1's. Otherwise, PM me.

For example- if your partner says "sewing," you could send her some fabric, a spool of thread and some buttons.... it's not like you have to send her the whole sewing machine... This is just to get her headed in the right direction.

or if she said "crochet," you could send her a pretty skein of yarn and a coordinating size of crochet hook with a picture of a scarf you've made...

I don't have to tell you, BE CREATIVE =)
