Description:
The much anticipated swap has finally arrived! So head to your nearest thrift store, yard sale or clearance section and grab a Barbie to alter! It's a bit of a complicated swap, so please bear with me through all the details and such. You will take one Barbie and alter at least 5 aspects of it. Think, hair, body, shoes, clothes, etc. but it still needs to be recognizable that it started out as a Barbie doll. Be sure to explain what you did altering wise in a note so your partner knows what to look for and where. Be tasteful in your choice of alterations. No one wants Burn Victim Barbie showing up on their doorstep frightening the neighborhood children. When you sign up to participate, please take a moment to comment in the section below listing one style you DON'T want to receive (i.e. clown, goth, fairy, etc.). You can also list some ideas of what you would enjoy and if your partner is so inclined and talented, you may just get something you would like. However, due to the artistic nature of this swap, that may not be possible, so don't get your hopes too high. Just know you won't be getting something you absolutely hate. Package your doll so it survives shipping, please! Since we are all in this awesome group, I'm sure it is safe to say that we all understand about quality, but just in case: please send something you are proud of and something you would be overjoyed to receive. I will be checking profiles to make sure everyone is a good standing member of the group with no recent no sends or poor ratings due to quality. The send by date is far away since this is a more involved swap, so everyone should have plenty of time to complete this project. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I like any thing over the top and whimsy... but I do not like clowns.. I would like to see something done to the barbie reather than just changing her clothing and hair. My profile picture is a barbie that I altered about a year ago. I love doing these so thanks so much for the swap....Have fun every one!!!!

Also, I picked up a Barbie for only $3 at our local Fred Meyers which I believe is Kroger's across the states. It was the Superstar Barbie and it looks like it will be fun to alter. I hope my partner doesn't mind pink, that is the only color used on her but I will do my best to add other colors in too, although I am sure pink will be present.

As for my preferences- please refrain from sending me a clown barbie. Anything else is fine with me, but I tend to enjoy darker, more goth things and like zombies and things like that.

I am so excited to participate in this swap.....I am not a clown fan & do not want to recieve anything with real animal fur, other than that go wild...I love dark gothy stuff & bright colors. I am sure what ever I get will be fantastic....

I'm so excited about this! I just showed my teenage boys the pictures that are linked and they told me that I could do this - that I'm dark! I'm not sure how to take that.... Anyway, I do like dark things, scary or really girly & sparkly but I don't want clowns either. Do you think this will be a series? This swap is really great! :)

This is my very first swap ever....Thank you for letting this newbie slide in ... Barbie is ready to get boxed up & sent...had a blast working on her and hope she gets a warm welcome fromo her new person.....So Much Fun ...can't wait to do another swap even though life is hectic right now... ^._.^
