Description:

In this swap, you will be using this pattern from an antique book. I've uploaded it HUGE so please check "All sizes" to get the great big version.

While the pattern is actually drawn threadwork, it's easily used for cross stitch.

You may use any fabric colour and thread colour you like, with the one rule that there is only one colour used for thread. However you can use verigated thread if you'd like to. You can also use Aida or evenweave, whichever you're most comfortable with.

Colours are senders choice. You're also able to choose which way to stitch this. Stitch the white sections or the black, up to you!

We will be sending this piece unmounted so please leave a good amount of fabric around the work to allow your partner to frame or display your work in the best way for themselves.

There is to be no shame about the back of your piece. I know I know, the back should be as neat as the front but this is not a competition and if you get a bit mizzled up, don't fret. If it troubles you to receive a messy backed piece, this may not be your swap.

i graphed the pattern for the Framed Lady, and put it up here on my Flickr... i was having a hard time going from the image to stitching and back again without getting lost, and needed a little help. and thought i'd share the pattern with those in the swap :-)

colleenp, Thank you for sharing the graphed image.

Frogglin, I am enjoying this cross stitch immensely, I hope you host more cross stitch swaps in the future!
