Description:

I just saw the above picture in my "News From Zentangle" e-mail & I knew right away I wanted to make it a swap! I love quotes, and lately I LOVE zentangles, so this is perfect.

As the name of the swap suggests, we will create a zentangle from a quote! The quote can be yours or someone else's, as long as you give credit where credit is due. You can either zentangle the letters themselves, or around them, like in the picture.

You can draw on card stock, card, bookmark, postcard or whatever you want! Its sender's choice, but try to send something your partner will like & want to display/use.

The quote is sender's choice as well, but please be sensitive to your partner's views/beliefs - for example - DON'T send a religious quote if they are not religious, according to their profile. The same goes if they are religious - don't be offensive or disrespectful. We're all adults, so let's just use common sense :)

Usual swap rules apply. NO 1's, 3's or no-sends in the last 3 months. Open to all group members in good standing who meet these requirements. PM me or post comments/questions.

I was just looking on zentangle.com and seen that quote and thought how much fun that would be to do for christmas cards. thanks for the swap and I can't wait to see my partner so I can start my quote.

is this 3.5" by 3.5"? or ATC size?

Wanda 08/24/2010 #

What a cool idea! I can't wait to start on mine!

Tommie, I am not the host, but I was concerned at first too, because I didn't want to do an ATC or too-small size. But I noticed that it said "You can draw on card stock, card, bookmark, postcard or whatever you want! Its sender's choice, but try to send something your partner will like & want to display/use." So since a bookmark is usually...well, bookmark size, and a postcard is about 4"x6", I figured it was any size that the sender wanted to make, as long as a quote fits on it comfortably, with room to zentangle. Mine will probably be postcard sized more or less. Hope this helps. :)

oh!! thank you! yeah, it does sound like any size is ok. i will go for the 3.5 by 3.5, i think!

Thanks @Wanda - you're right! It can be any size you choose, depending on your quote & chosen item to Zentangle. I think 3.5"x3.5" or even ATC size would have to be a fairly short quote to be readable, but again, its whatever you size you want.

Can these have colors?

iLoveMail 09/ 2/2010 #

Yes! Color, black & white, whatever you choose :)

carileigh 09/ 2/2010 #

Awesome! Mine is done :)

I hope it doesn't inconvenience anyone, but I needed to extend the "send-by" deadline by a couple of days. Thanks for understanding.
