Description:

With Emeraldcharm14's permission I am conducting a European version of her fab swap.

So the guidelines for this swap are:

1)You can create your own book/alter a book/whatever you want. You can put it in a folder with rings, etc. You can purchase a book, the choice is yours.

2)The size of the book is up to you, but of course it's smarter to keep it light, postage-wise.

3)Must haves:

a)your username on swap-bot.

b)pages full of whatever it is you would like to include for your partner. A broad selection of things you are/like/do.Try to include but not limited to - artwork, recipes, thoughts, quotes, etc. Make this something you would want to receive from your partner. This book is not all art, all recipe, etc. it is a collection of many things.

c)Include a small gift for your partner - whether it be a bookmark, atc or whatever you are good at.

d)Include min. 20 journal topics/prompts for your partner to help them perhaps on their next journal swap.

e)# of pages to fill - minimum of 25 pages

f)include one page of Halloween/fall related postings

Have fun with your journal and please remember to send on time. You must have a 4,7 average to participate, with no recent unexplained 3s or 1s. Newbies welcome, but you need a really well filled out profile. I will reserve the right to ban iffy swappers.

NOTE: This will require a lot of time and effort from you and if you're not a 100% sure you can commit, then don't. If anybody flakes on this, so help me gods, I will find your mailbox and poop in it.

Wicked!! Watching!!

kimpulse 08/29/2010 #

i would extend the time from sign up til sending date.

sounds like a fun swap :D

Megbomb 08/29/2010 #

So is this a journal you are altering for your partner to use or are we supposed to use it as our journal??

Filpot 08/30/2010 #

@tyttoastronautti

I'm watching for the moment, but may I make a suggestion?

I think you should make the rating requirement higher than 4.7 and be VERY strict about newbies. When I was a newbie I joined several time-consuming swaps like this and was flaked on in FOUR of them. It's horrible having spent a long time, a lot of creative energy and, dare I say it, love, on making something lovely and then to receive nothing in return.

Just a thought.

@sugarbun I thought about that too, but you are free to start making the journal before the last sign up date, this is pretty much sender's choice anyway. But I can add a week if others feel like it's necessary...?

@walkinintheway You are supposed to use it and fill it with the things mentioned in the swap description. Give your partner a piece of you.

@filpot I plan to be quite strict in regard to newbies and will require explanations to recent 3s and 1s, but don't feel like there's need to punish people for mistakes made long ago, if they have since corrected their ways.

How nice to see a european journal swap, it will be nice to have a partner from a european country as 99% of my partners have been from the USA. It will be good to know more about Europe and particularly Europeans.

It is a tough question over newbies/low ratings, but I think you need to accept that there will always be a risk with swapping. In just over a year I have been flaked on with so many swaps, more journals than anything else. There will always be flakers in journal swaps but if you let it get to you, you will never swap at all and you need to do it for the love of creating the journal and sharing a bit of yourself with others.

The users I have been flaked on in two journal swaps were "oldies" with perfect ratings (at first).

I agree with secretterrabite (btw, helloooo!) swapping will always be a risk but isn't it sooo much fun?! :o) I think the main problem with journal swaps is that people think they are easy to do, which they are not. They need A LOT of time and effort and I think a lot of people underrate that, esp. the ones that haven't done journal swaps before.

TheCraftaholic 09/ 8/2010 #

oh, i wis hthis was for USA! This looks like so much fun!

pendragons 09/14/2010 #

This is great! And i want to thank you for considering newbies, because i feel that a lot of swaps don't allow newbies, and we have to start somewhere, otherwise we won't be able to swap!! So thank you for that!!

One question where you put e)# of pages to fill - minimum of 25 pages... is that we have to fill a minimum of 25 pages, or we have to tell them how many to do in their new journal swap??

Jacquisking 09/15/2010 #

Hi I cant send inbox msgs on here but ive just been rated a 1 as a package is taking a while to get to where its going, I have sent and offered to resend if it doesnt get there soon. Please let me stay in this swap I do not flake!

secretterrabite 09/15/2010 #

Pendragons, I took it to mean our own journal should be minimum 25 pages

pendragons 09/16/2010 #

Ahh okay! Thank you, just wanted to check!!! I'll get started on my journal tomorrow! :D

tyttoastronautti 09/16/2010 #

Yes, you need to make your journal minimum of 25 pages. (Also, very excited about this already, eeek!)

tyttoastronautti 09/16/2010 #

SWAP EDITED! After a couple of requests and the fact that I'm having a busy fall too, added one more week to swap deadline. That leaves no excuses for flaking either, you have plenty of time now! (Still excited - eeek!)
