Sea Glass Serenity Swap

I'll try to get mine out before the deadline due to my crummy postal situation.

I love this and wish I could join, but the ocean is currently out of reach for this mountain woman.

when I visited Scotland, I found "sea china" which was really neat.

I can send Asian sea glass and don't really need / want any seaglass back in return (have a huge collection from literally around the world...) so perhaps some of the posters here will be happy to know that and try to set up a private 'sea glass for little profile treat' swap with me? And I'd also, of course, be happy to join this swap and send a beachcomber's 'Asian Sea Glass' jar to my partner!

@NorthernBorder - I'm with you. I live near the mountains, not the beach.

This would be a good swap to do again in the summer though when I have a better chance of being near the beach (hint, hint). :-)

i am a sea glass fanatic & also have a great collection from several locations including the Gulf of Mexico, Maui, and Puget Sound where i now live. i would be happy to do a private swap with those who are not near a beach but would like some pieces of their own. And I would also be interested in doing a private swap for people who want sea glass, but aren't near the ocean. I have a lot of amber colored sea glass and very nice white polished ones. Some green. So that means budweiser,corona, heineken :) I live on Maui btw

Oh, i live close the the sea, but theres no seaglass here :( Maybe i should be lucky for that, pepole not throwing bottles everywhere.

I have sea china, too and plan to make a shadow box with it after going to a big sea glass show a couple of weeks back.

What a neat thread, I never knew there were so many kinds of sea glass. When you think about it, putting a broken glass bottle into the surf is a perfect form of recycling: all glass is is sand (silica) that has been melted together. The pounding of the waves returns it to its original form... although I came across this thread because it's labelled "ephemera" (??)

Ephemera can be described anything that you may throw away, or something as being temporary. It's not just a paper item.

Yea, I think "ephemera" has kinda moved beyond printed materials, paper, etc. I have even seen people describe feathers and stuff as ephemera. I don't know, maybe I'm just helping to corrupt the word?! :)

I hope that no one minds me joining. I have river glass which is basically the same thing but found in the rivers here where I live. I have jars full. I also collect river china. Would anyone mind receiving a piece of that as well?

Me too, I found some interesting pieces this weekend that had some Japanese writing, but threw them back for more smoothing.

River glass and china works for me. I went thru the collection and have a baggie that is going back to the beach this weekend, for more polishing.

I went to the beach the past weeekend, and found not much in the way of sea glass at all... but I did find a couple of house bricks and a few good chunks of concrete....... yes, I left them there... and The Princess found a spoon. :)
