Description:

For this swap you will be making 4 pieces of card candy for your partner. If you are unfamiliar, please go to Etsy and search for it under Handmade items.

Basically it is a layered embellishment with adhesive on the back ready to be placed on a card as an accent. Each piece must include: at least 4 items/layers, 3 of the items must be unique (not repeated), adhesive backed on a backing sheet or other backing to protect the adhesive. It should end up looking like Jolee's or other similar packaged embellishments. I recommend one large or several small glue dots or foam dimensionals. Please be sure the adhesive is firmly attached to your candy.

Each of the 4 pieces of candy should be at least slightly different or can be totally different, up to you. Changing the colour, type of layer etc of only one element is enough. At least 2 elements must be non-paper. They should measure at least 1.5" at the smallest diameter/dimension and not too large for a standard 4.25x5.5" card. Please no holiday themes. Let's keep these generic so they can be used any time of year for lots of different cards.

Sorry there are so many rules but I try really hard to anticipate how a slacker (none on this group right?) might try to pass off less than creative work and make rules to try an avoid that. If you have an awesome idea that breaks the rules, just check with me or your partner.

I'll give a few examples: A handmade flower made from layered die cuts, fabric or felt, a button in the center with thin ribbon or twine through the holes. The flower, button and ribbon each count as the three unique items. The extra layers in the flower make up the minimum of 4 elements.

A tag with ribbon through the hole, a bird die cut and a flower with pearl middle layered on top. No elements are repeated so there are 5 elements, all unique.

A felt heart with stitched or brad center, on top of a loopy ribbon bow on a cardstock circle.

A circle of vintage book paper on a cardstock circle with a silk flower and brad through the middle to hold it all together.

A stick pin with several different beads and a silk flower threaded on it. (No adhesive required because it already has a way to attach it.)

A butterfly with glittered wings, bead or pearl for the head and ribbon or wire antenae.

Canvas stamped with an image, accented with pearls, rhinestones or Stickles with decorative stitching along the edges.

A flower with 3 pearls in the middle doesn't count because 3 of the elements are repeated and therefore not unique. 3 pearls are perfect though if you add at least one more layer.

I'm looking forward to making: (from bottom up) ring cut from patterned paper, bracket shaped layer from stamped or embossed cardstock, multi-layered handmade flower with ribbon leaves. Yeah, I know, more than 4 elements!

No traditional flat or premade dimensional stickers. You can use adhesive backed felt or flowers etc but if it is factory made, no matter how many elements it includes, it counts as one because you didn't make it. You can add to it though and still use it.

If you use stamps, stamp cleanly; missed areas or double lines are not acceptable. Please do not use computer generated images. No sentiments at all please.

Please make embellishments you are proud of and would be thrilled to receive. Make sure your work is clean and precise. No glue should show and straight cuts need to be straight. Please don't be discouraged by my rules. I am only referring to general tidy practices, not tiny flaws. I've received a card so saturated with glue I could knock on it and get hollow noises! I've received a note book with edges that looked like they had been cut with a saw! I just expect tidy work!

Check your partners' profile for dislikes and avoid those. For example I hate orange and that's clearly on my profile so don't use it for me!

Please have a 4.95+ rating to join and no 1's EVER or 3's in the last 6 months. I will accept explanations of course, PM me ahead of the sign up deadline. Newbies are welcome with WELL FILLED out profiles (About Me, Likes, Dislikes at least) and MUST PM me at least 3 days before the end of the swap to show good intentions. A newbie is someone with less than 5 completed and rated type 2 or 3 swaps. If you see a flaker has joined, don't worry, I will weed them out. If you are really worried, give me a heads up! I’ve only been a member since March and been flaked on too many times, I've stopped keeping track, so I get it!

Enjoy, Rebecca
