Unique Background Papers

Let's make "Unique Background Papers" that can be used for ATCs, Inchies, Twinchies, tags, mini envies, notecards, whatever!

Choose three different background techniques. Ideas off the top of my head are: mosaic, water color wash, rubber stamps, Zentangle, wax crayon relief, alcohol inks, sharpie tie-dye, grids, glitter glue swirls...just to name a few. Use techniques alone or in combination - Be Creative!!! This is your chance to try something new.

Assuming you use 8-1/2 by 11 inch paper, cut a strip from the paper that is 3-1/2 by 8-1/2. You will be able to cut a strip for each of your partners and have enough to keep for yourself. Each strip will be large enough to cut 3 ATCs from, but DON"T cut them down to size. Your partner might have something else in mind.

Please use a sturdy paper that will sufficiently support your art. Tissue paper won't work for this swap, and I imagine a water color wash on copy paper wouldn't be very well received either.
Ya know, it's hard to go wrong with card stock. :o)

You will mail each of your partners a collection of your 3 different background strips. These will easily fit into a business size envelope, and will probably only take one to two stamps to mail, depending on the techniques you choose.

In the end, we'll have enough new "Unique Background Papers" to make 18 ATCs (from our swap buddies), PLUS the extras we kept for ourselves!

Sender's Choice.

Want more ideas? How about: tea stained sheet music, doily prints, crayon/pencil rubbings, basketweave...

Hey, if anyone else has any sparks of inspiration, please share!

LOL I have been procrastinating too much! I was going to do a similar type of swap -- "snow" technique backgrounds with tutorials. I had four different ones worked out and photographed but haven't gotten it together enough to post the swap.

I like your idea of doing strips!
