Description:

National Chemistry Week is October 21-27 this year, and what better way to celebrate than to make moles? I made some of these in chemistry class in high school and they were a lot of fun.

Using the pattern found here, make a mole. You can make it realistically (gray fur) or not (cow-print fur or metallic fur, for example - feel free to be as creative as you like!), and decorate it any way you want. You can make clothes for the mole or it can be a naked mole, it can have hair or be bald, you can give it the nose on the pattern or it can be noseless, it could be dressed for a holiday, etc, etc. You are only limited by your imagination! Even if you don't know how to sew well, these are still really easy to make and a lot of fun. Once you're done, you will send the mole to your partner. You will have ONE partner so you need to make ONE mole and you will receive ONE mole.

To participate in this swap, you need to have a rating of at least 4.8 with no no-sends (if you have one and still want to take part in the swap, please message me to explain the circumstances).

Since this is US only, I will angel this swap if I must, but we're all going to send our moles to our partners so that is not an issue, right? :)

This is my first swap that I've organized and I really hope that some other people are interested in it!

I googled this . For those of us with no clue:

National Mole Day is celebrated every Oct. 23, starting at 6:02 a.m. to commemorate chemist the 18th century chemist Amedeo Avogrado's number, 6.02 x 10^23. A mole is a basic measuring unit in chemistry and represents 6.02 x 10^23 particles. In general, one mole of any substance contains Avogadro's Numberof molecules or atoms of that substance. Mole Day was created as a way to foster interest in chemistry. Schools throughout the United States and around the world celebrate Mole Day with various activities related to chemistry and/or moles.

Haha, so cute! I'm a chemistry teacher and we are celebrating Mole Day next week by tie dying t-shirts. Cannot wait to make a mole. ;)

Isn't this cute?

I'm not so good at sewing yet so I'll pass on signing up for this swap, but I really like the idea. I didn't know all this, I've always thought mole plushies are cute so I'm saving the pattern link for when I can get around to it.

Great swap idea!

How did I miss this the first time around? Brilliant! Count me in.

If anyone is having trouble printing off the pattern, please let me know and I will send you a copy through the mail as soon as possible (I may have to push back the send date about a week or so if this is the case).
