Description:

I absolutely adore Brian Froud's pressed fairy books. I think it would be neat to do our own pressed fairies!

How you do it is up to you but try to be creative. Maybe draw one on top of some ink or water colours. Perhaps add some googley eyes, or use stickers and paint smudges over top.... lots of ways to go about this!

Everyone is invited to join (yes, newbies too!) and I can angel this if need be.

Have fun with it!

Added Info:

An ATC is short for Artists Trading Card. It is a card that is 2.5" x 3.5" in size (the size of a usual playing card). It is usually made of card stock and can be hand drawn, decorated and embellished in any way you like.

On the back of the card you should add the following: title of the card, your name, date created, how many in that series (for example if I were making 3 of them I would write 1 of 3 , 2 of 3 or 3 of 3) and the name of the swap that you are making it for.

An ATC is never sold, only traded. And if possible, you should send your ATC in a plastic trading card sleeve (found at hobby stores and some dollar stores too) to help protect the card.

Got a link with examples, please? Sounds interesting.

I love Brian Froud's Pressed Fairy book. I think I must have bought at least six copies of that book to give away as gifts! My copy was on my coffee table for years till I moved. I need to find it. Hmmmm Where it is ... Where it is...

how big should these cards be?

Lioness 03/27/2011 #

An ATC is 2.5" x 3.5" :) And yes, any examples available?

Sorry Gofeen, I don't have examples because I have never seen this ATC done before. I just came up with it out of my head.

But if you would like to see some images of Brian Froud's pressed fairies, you can google here:

http://www.google.ca/images?q=brian+froud+pressed+fairies&hl=en&biw=1276&bih=830&prmd=ivnso&source=lnms&tbs=isch:1&ei=qvePTf6JMcKW0QGBosCmCw&sa=X&oi=modelink&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CBEQAUoATgK

I don't expect everyone to be an atrist like Brian Froud though. Just do your own version of one.

Hmmmm..... looks like me trying to make life easier for you with a link didn't work out so well, lol!

But as I said, google images using "Brian Frouds pressed fairies" (make sure you are using images and not web) and there will be tons of pictures of his work.

And yes, the usual ATC size of 2.5" x 3.5"
