Swap description: Keep it moving!
In the spirit of BookCrossing, let's keep those crossed books travelling! Although you are welcome to join this swap with any book you have registered at BookCrossing (the journey must begin somewhere!) this is also an opportunity to pass on books that you have found in the wild or picked up at an OBCZ (Official BookCrossing Zone).

This is an open-themed swap, so bear in mind that the book you receive is unlikely to be on your wishlist – but on the other hand, you may serendipitously receive a book that would otherwise never have crossed your path, and it's always fun to try something different. :) (N.B. if you do receive something you would never read in a million years, well, re-release it into the wild or an OBCZ and help it find a more appreciative new home!) Although this is an open-themed swap, please take care not to send anything which may be considered offensive.

Swap requirements

  • Swappers must have no late swaps on their dashboard, no 3 ratings in the last 3 months, and no 1 ratings in the last 12 months. I will check before assigning partners.
  • Swappers should include a link to their BookCrossing Bookshelf in the comments section below.
  • Books sent may be new, second-hand or previously crossed but must be in good, readable condition and registered with a BCID from the BookCrossing website.
  • Please make a BookCrossing journal entry upon receiving your swap, as well as rating your partner.
  • Send on time!

Hey! First: Thank you for hosting wonderful book swaps. Second: I´d love to join this swap, but I´m from Germany and started a bookcrossing project in a school, so most of my books are in German. I think that my partner is supposed to be able to read the book I send to him, so I´d search for an English book to swap. But that means (and that´s the problem) that there won´t be too many options, e.g. that I send a classic my partner probably knows.

Is this a no-go or is it okay if I join ? I promise to try to find something special, but I wanted to ask first.

Or you might get lucky and get me as a partner and then you could send one of your many books in German :)

^^ I´d love to do so! Well, however. I´ll join now because I love this swap as I love the idea of bookcrossing.

Sorry for delay in noticing/replying to these comments! @Atropos - you could actually send a German book to me, too, as my parents & sister all speak and/or teach German, and it would be fun to pass something on to one of them, & completely unexpected! If you get neither @Swan or myself as a partner, I'm sure an English-language classic will be fine. Even if your partner has already read it, at least it should be easy enough to help it continue its journey. :)

Just a note - as mentioned in swap description, this is an open-themed swap, sender's choice rather than profile-specific. Nice to match your partner's wishlist if possible but you will not be rated down for not doing so!

I'm on! Could be a German book, but most likely something in English and I have a big pile of about 100 books to choose from... ;-)

I'm melydia on BookCrossing (and pretty much everywhere).

my bookcrossing name is trinschen. I guess, chances are good to get a partner who is able to read German, I just looked trough the profiles and about half of the people in this swap are from Germany ;)
