Description:

This swap was presented by our very own @TangleCrafts last May. I thought I would post it again to see if anyone else wants to experience this lovely swap.

Mail Art, inside and out

Inside

The inside of your envelope/package should contain a minimum of 3 handmade items that are in some way mail art or postal related. The list below gives some examples, but is not all-encompassing: feel free to send any 3 handmade items that are mail art or postal related – include an explanatory note, just in case your thought processes aren't obvious to your partner!

  • An ATC
  • A postcard
  • A zine (art/craft/mail art/correspondence themed)
  • A small address book
  • A notecard with envelope or letterset (2 writing sheets with envelope)
  • A set of envelopes (minimum 4, of legally mail-able dimensions)
  • Mailing labels (a strip or sheet)
  • Faux postage (a small sheet, e.g. A5 or half-size – or the equivalent number of loose stamps)
  • A hand-carved rubber stamp

Outside

The outside of your envelope/package should be as fun to receive as the inside. This can be as simple as adding your own faux postage/artistamps to the outside, to decorating an entire envelope with your choice of artwork, to packaging in a handmade envelope of some kind, or sending within some kind of 'container' that you would not normally see mailed. Be creative!

Swap requirements

  • Items must all be handmade.
  • You may re-gift items, but make sure that the original artist is credited.
  • The swap is sender's choice, but please put in some thought, & try to make your partner smile.
  • The outside of your envelope/package must be in some way decorated and/or creative.
  • 2 partners = 2 swap packages sent, and 2 swap packages received.

The obvious bit

You already had to have a rating of 4.9+ with no recent no-sends, 1s or 3s to join this group anyway, so the same stands for this swap. But I will still double-check before assigning partners, so if you have what you feel is an unfair comment or rating, just PM me & we can try to work it out. :-)
