Description:

I love writing and swapping haiku, and since they are traditionally seasonal, I thought I would start a series of haiku swaps. Since we could have people from different hemispheres joining, I am labeling them by month rather than season. So write a haiku for your partners inspired by something in your surroundings in the month of July. You can mail it on a postcard, as an ATC, written on ribbon...any way you choose. You can use the same haiku for both partners or write two.

So let's get writing!

EDIT: In order to allow Canadian swappers to participate, I'm going to add that for this swap, sending the poem through email, a blog post, or other electronic means IS acceptable. I'm sure Canadians are already entering swap withdrawal, and since the heart of this swap is the poem itself, we don't need a physical object mailed. I'm messaging all current participants so that folks can skip this swap if they prefer. Thanks!

My only concern is the Canadian postal strike. I'm sure it will be over by then, but if not will a creative online sending be acceptable?

The Canadian postal strike has certainly cramped the style of our Canadian swappers! I will message everyone currently in the swap so that they can drop out if they disagree, but I think that creative online sending is perfectly fine if sending from or to Canada. Thanks!

I'm happy to send or receive by email from Canada :-)

We are having problems with volcano ash that is drifting around the world from Chile for the 2nd time and keeping planes grounded in New zealand for days on end so our mail is very spazmodic!
