A bit of clarification, are we making a piece of art, or jewelry? I'm a bit confused on that point.

I'm a bit unsure about that too - a work of art eg. a painting or a piece of jewellery eg. a pendant?

You create one pice of artwork, that is at least 4 x 4 inches. You can go larger if you like. Your artwork can be anything considered an artform, usually one you specialize in...like painting, etc. We do have sculptures, fiber artists, jewelry artist, art doll artists, photographers, mixed media, water color, acrylic and some oil painters in the group, so you could get something other then a painting. Though most often, I have received some sort of painting.
Art Jewelry is usually considered a unique, one of a kind piece of art, often intended to be an heirloom jewelry piece, of higher quality and certainly representing the artistic vision of the artist.......a scrabble tile type pendant would not qualify as art jewelry unless the scene was handpainted by you and you put it on a necklace yu made with quality materials, or you could make a pendant from you blowing glass, or making a glass art pendant, or using PMC, or wood burning, felting the wool yourself, etc...
