International

This swap is for beginners. I love having fun with bottle caps and would like to swap some of them. In this swap you will alter 3 bottle caps and send to one partner. You may do anything you like or you may alter it to meet your partner's profile. It can be a magnet, necklace, bracelet, flower, whatever you want it to be in the end. Let's get really creative.

Although this swap is for beginners, I would love to see some experienced crafters share with us.

Here is a link that shows some really great examples: bottlecaps

Guidelines:

No Newbies - Must have been rated on at least 5 completed swaps (does not include online swaps)

Minimum of 4.9

No "no sends". If you have a 1 from an international swapper in the last month, pm me. I know some people are just not patient.

I will ban questionable swappers after the sign-up date.

Have fun.

Make these bottle caps you would want to receive.

This is a craft that I have not tried yet. I received some bottle caps along with some other delightful treasures in a swap awhile back. Now this seems like the perfect opportunity to try my hand at this craft. Thanks for hosting.

This is just the place to get started with your new craft. But beware...it's very addicting!! So glad you joined!

I'd like to try working with these, but how do you mash them flat?

VJP 12/11/2007 #

The best way is to use a rubber mallot on a smooth surface. I think this photo shows the materials needed to flatten them. materials.I personally don't flatten mine. I prefer to leave the edges so I can fill the bottle cap with seed beads and Diamond Glaze or Liquid Laminate.

I hope this helps...

This will be my first time also, but that is my goal...going outside of my box. I won't grow if I don't try new things. I have 2 idea's already.

which section of the craft shop do you find you diamond glaze in?

the only laquer i could finds was with the rubber stamps and inks - they called it liquid embossing.

anyone in the UK any ideas?

Is this limited to the typical bottle caps like one would find on beer bottles? Or would other caps, for example, Snapple caps, be alolowable as well?

TeaNi~ This is for beer bottle size caps.

You can find Diamond Glaze on Ebay, I also sometimes use Envirotex Lite but it is WAY more time consuming. You can also find that on Ebay. They don't sell even Diamond Glaze at local craft stores here in town, its the pits!

Hmmm. Mine aren't drying very well. I think it's about time I re-do them! Can't find Diamond Glaze anywhere up here either. Grrr...

Sending mine out today...kinda cloudy. It is my first effort so I am not totally disappointed. I will post a picture in a bit. Please post pictures of your works of art :) it would be great to see what everyone came up with.
