SEPTEMBER is International Women's Friendship Month

According to the Internet, in 1999, the Kappa Delta Sorority created the National Women's Friendship Day that became so popular that it was expanded in 2009 to a month-long celebration. Now women celebrate International Women's Friendship Month (IWFM) the entire month of September. Here is a website that tells all about it:

In honor of this, I thought it might be fun to have a swap in which we shower our partners with fun things all month long.

You will send your partner a minimum of 3 fun things throughout the month of September. My intent is that we will send our partner at least 1 envelope per week, for a total of 3 envelopes sent throughout the month. You may send more, but that's up to you; you may not receive the same from your partner.

Please send things you think "will make your partner smile." They don't have to be big things; "Good things do come in small packages." Some ideas: recipes, a friendly note from you, a photo of you, tea bag, treats, hot chocolate, small journal, stickers, bookmarks, paper crafting items (including gently used rubber and/or clear stamps), address labels, candy, etc. The sky is the limit.

The items can be handmade, store-bought, or from your own stash. Please also decorate each envelope in some way to add to the fun of the swap. I encourage everyone to look at their partner's profile for ideas; however you may have some ideas of your own.

Swap value - it's hard because some of the items might be handmade or things you already have in your stash, or received from someone else. But, let's go with at least $5.00 (before postage), for the whole swap (all the envelopes combined).

Have fun and start sending envelopes as soon as you get your partner. Make it a fun month for her!

The sign-up date is quick so I can assign partners and we'll still have 3 weeks to play. While the due date says the end of the month, it's to allow for rating two weeks past that. Please, please, please send things throughout the month as detailed above. That way, your partner can be happy all month long, and have fun things to look forward to each week.
