I'm Ally, and I'm a brand-new resident in Madison, Wisconsin. Former homes include Utah, Massachusetts, and California. I'm a huge nerd, Netflix addict, cat-lover, feminist, and I just picked up knitting. I have a growing library but I also love giving books away.

Netflix loves: Futurama, Orange is the New Black, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Fringe, Continuum, Arrested Development

I also really like Gilmore Girls, Veep, Game of Thrones, and Orphan Black, but those are unfortunately not on Netflix.

Book genres:

I like reading fluffy books and high-brow stuff, even pretentious NYT bestsellers. Give me stuff I should've read in high school or college. I'm also really into memoirs by women. Meg Cabot and Sophia Kinsella are my favorite entertainment writers. I also like sci-fi and fantasy, but I'm more of a shallow fan of the genre - I'll read the best stuff, like Game of Thrones, but not really lesser-known stuff.

I should really be reading more diverse books, so if you have books about LGBTQIA people or from different countries than the U.S. or England, I would appreciate some of those.

Please no religious books.

I like really lyrical poetry without much structure. I mostly like stuff from this century or the last ... but also the 19th century.

I'm looking forward to participating in recipe swaps. I love Mexican food. I really want to learn how to make more Asian cuisines, specifically Thai and Vietnamese. Vegetarian and vegan recipes are also appreciated, as well as really easy crockpot dump recipes and casseroles. Make me buy fresh vegetables. And bread recipes would be good too. And stuff with pumpkin in it.

I said above that I don't like onions, but I don't mind recipes with onions in them. I can either pick them out or replace with onion powder. I'm also not a fan of bell peppers. My husband doesn't like recipes with an overwhelming amount of tomato flavor (spaghetti sauce is okay but tomato soup isn't ... I know, he's weird), so I'd prefer other recipes but I'll take your tomato ones if that's what you've got.
