I am a mother to 5 children and a naked cat. We have lived in rural Devon, UK for a long time, but originally we are from the Netherlands. Both feel like home, but as they say you can take the girl off the island (Dordrecht), but not the island out of the girl. Being Dutch gives me a very practical and liberal outlook on life. Being raised in a multicultural country by a multicultural family gave me openmindedness and curiousity. I have never met a boring person. Everyone has a story. I am old enough to rarely raise an eyebrow and not many humans have shocked me. Not that I am inviting you to shock me. Just trying to say that most people are decent and interesting. My dad used to have a massive collection of pens, pencils and fountain pens. I guess that is where it all went wrong. I just love stationery. A good pen is like a hug. I don’t only like gold plated ones, but also BIC Pastel ink ones. Even plain black ones can be essential bullet journal tools.
I speak Dutch, English and German and am interested to learn more. At the moment I am trying to learn Swedish and Polish. So far I found Swedish easier to learn. Learning about language became even more important when I learned a bit about what can go wrong when you have trouble understanding or using it. I love helping my son navigate the world while conquering his challenges. Things I love are: white tea, green tea, all kinds of herbal teas except for mint, martial art movies, rubber stamps, Resin Moulds, Shrink Plastic, red lipsticks, Sphynx cats and a lot more. I make Pocket Letters and snail mail items. My next project is helping my son set up a e-store. I found out about Swapbot while researching pocket letters. I have been away for awhile, but I hope to be a lot more active.
