I am a 41 year old Caucasian female, in a relationship with my high school sweetheart. I live in Eastern Oregon. I have two daughters, 20 and 17. I recently ran across this site while chatting with my niece on facebook. I love to write, and I used to have quite a few penpals.

MY FAMILY:

My twenty year old is 1/2 Navajo and has a beautiful new son--7 months old. My 17 year old daughter lives at home and is writing teen novels. My high school sweet heart drives truck for a living.

A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME:

We both enjoy hunting and fishing. I love to garden, cook and many other things. I am an avid camper and love to enjoy hours outdoors especially in the mountains. I enjoy gardening and plant a garden every spring. I haven't grown any tea but do grow mint and have fashioned my own tea bags using my own stuff. Enjoy sipping a nice hot tea with a good book by the fire. I enjoy canning/freezing and preserving the produce we grow.

I collect postage stamps and have a very small collection of rubber stamps. I enjoy mail art, though I haven't done any in quite a while, but I would love to get into card making.

MUSIC

I graduated high school in 1988--so obviously, I am an 80's fan. I enjoy 80's music as I just have a hard time getting into today's music, though some of it is great. Although I was a headbanger back then, and still enjoy my Motley Crue, Judas Priest, Ozzy, AC/DC, Ratt, Cinderella, Poison etc... I mostly listen to current pop, 80's pop or whatever is on the radio. Also enjoy classical--Charolette Church; rap--Run DMC, Beastie Boys; Christian--Crystal Lewis, Michael W. Smith, Jennifer Knapp and well this list is soooo long, I'll leave that for another day! I do love to sing, and have sang specials for church, weddings and funerals.

SOME OTHER THINGS I LIKE:

Chickens!! I love stuff for my kitchen and house that have a chicken theme. I have a small, growing collection of various chicken items; pot holders, kitchen signs, figurines. My favorite are the little tiny glass figurines. I also enjoy other animals. I grew up in the country on a small farm. I LOVE HORSES, though my mother never allowed me to have one of my own so I collected the mini-version--Breyers. I stabled them, showed them, bred them and raced them and just in general LOVED them. My first was #3080 Stud Spider gift set, the black and white blanket appaloosa pattern. Love The Black Stallion which leads me into another interest--reading.

BOOKS

Grew up on Walter Farley and like my interest in music, my reading interests vary. Enjoy reading Piers Anthony, Terry Brooks, Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman (I am a D&D nerd) and I love Jean Auel and the Clan of the Cave Bears. Must be that nature girl in me. Have read half of the Twilight series (my daughter keeps re-reading the series and always seems to grab up the next book I am on, so I am on a waiting list! lol).

OTHER INTERESTS

I also love art--drawing, painting and had been taking many art classes in school but due to a weekend in the hospital during finals week I failed my courses and lost my scholarships so school is put on hold. I have tried my hand at sculpting and think I may make my own doll or a model horse some day.

FAVORITE TELEVISION

Love to watch CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) which also includes NCIS, CSI Vegas is my favorite, but also love CSI Miami and CSI NY.

Love to watch cooking shows, especially cooking competitions like Chopped, Top Chef and Iron Chef. Cupcake Wars has been fun to watch. I enjoy cooking...it seems to put me at peace to tinker around the kitchen, stirring up this and that.

Huge fan of Survivor and love Greys Anatomy as well.

I am currently hoping to make it on 'The List' for a new kidney/pancreas as I lost my kidneys two years ago. Up until then I was going to school to get my card punched for Behavioral Therapy as I was working with my autistic student.
