UPDATE Nov 24, 2015 Sorry I have been MIA for quite some time. Life has thrown several curve balls and I feel I have been striking out in trying to get back in control. Around Easter I hurt my back and I feel into slight depression. I didn't feel like doing anything! I then became busy trying to remodel my kitchen around June 2015. In July I was offered and accepted a new position at work, which has kept me extremely busy ... sometimes working 11 hours a day (7am to 6pm or longer!) This has kept me from enjoying any free time because I am too tired to create or be social! Then in October I decided to give my living room a make over with fresh paint new floors. I felt things coming together and taking control of my life and time once more. THEN, on November 13 my water heater burst and I am now dealing with water damage to 2 bedrooms, which includes my art room!! I am back in a slump again because this will affect the holidays for me in what I can plan and do because I am dealing with getting my house back to normal. I just wanted to share what has been going on lately in 2015 for me! You may or may not see this but I wanted to update my profile....just in case!

Hello, I'm Carmen and I'm from the Dallas Texas area. I'm a mother and a Nana.

I am a night owl....nocturnal....more creative/productive at night. However, having to report to work at 7am forces me to be an early bird. I've been at the same job outside of home since March 1987 - a long time!

I love snail mail and have a few pen pals that I exchange letters with. I've recently started exchanging post cards and enjoy receiving from all corners of the world :) I create ATCs, greeting cards and tags/bookmarks. I love coffee, I love to collect journals, note cards, stationery and Hard Rock Café guitar pins.

Paper Crafts are my favorite craft of choice.

• started out scrapbooking long ago

• Then I spent a lot of my free time participating in circle journals swaps.

• I started creating greeting cards to send on different occasions.

• I also create tags and Bookmarks.

• I love to create with all kinds of stamps (rubber, cling and clear).

• I then discovered the world of ATCs and gave it a shot and now I devote a lot of time creating and swapping ATCs.

• I love the idea of mail art but I am such a newbie and I am determined to learn more about this fun hobby.

I love ALL kinds of music, but if I had to choose just one genre... I'll have to go with Rock - Classic rock - The Beatles, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac. I've listened to a different genre at different times in my life but it all depends on the mood I am in, so this pretty much sums it up for me

Wait! First of all... Where's the popcorn? When I'm watching a movie at the theater or in the comfort of my own home I would love to have some popcorn with my movie. :) The 2 just belong together... Perfect combo! I love to watch a great classic. When some of my favorite TV shows are not in season I love to watch the classic movies on TCM! I have my TV on the Turner Classic Movies watching movies made in the mid-30's and through the late 50's or early 60's. Some of the greats, to name a few are Bette Davis, Gregory Peck, Joan Crawford, Cary Grant, Barbara Stanwyck, James Stewart .... Movies would include Mrs. Skeffington, Stella Dallas, To Kill a Mockingbird, An Affair to Remember, It's a Wonderful Life and Mildred Pierce. I like to watch some of the mob movies like The GodFather, The Departed, Good Fellas. The 80's brought The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, Ferris Buellar's Day off. Oh and from the 90's I love Shawshank Redemption, Silence of the Lambs, Forrest Gump (I like a lot of Tom Hank's movies) Then there's Jaws, Fiddler on the Roof, Star Wars all the Harry Potter movies. I'm not going to get started on the movies from today because then this section would be toooo long with everything I've already mentions. Oh but my all time favorite "cry" movies that I can watch again and again are Steel Magnolias, Beaches and a classic, Imitation of life! I love to watch the Academy Awards too. Ok, where's the popcorn?
