Hi my names Ruby!
I'm from the Los Angeles, CA.
I love to draw, play/watch soccer, watch anime, sing in the shower (I'm sure so many of us do), cook and bake, look and eat! Who doesn't love to eat?! I recently came back to Swap-Bot, I'd love to get to know more about its community and the people. :)
I love talking to people outside of my country due to the fact I want to travel around the world. I'd like to try new and exotic things! I also like to learn about your customs and traditions. The only countries I've been to besides the US are Mexico (my mother is from there) and Canada.
I have 7 brothers and sisters. I am the third youngest from all! I also have 5 dogs whose names are Candy, Rocco, Max, Brita, and Mattis.
I'm in school currently learning about Computer Science. At a young age I've always been interested in computers and their function(s). This year will be my second in a college. Some of the courses I've taken are pretty basic: English, Math, and Social Behaviors. I will be taking my first programming class in the coming semester, which will begin on February 4th. I'm really excited and can't wait to find out of this is for me (I'm actually more than 100% sure it's for me).
I speak English fluently and some Spanish from Mexico. Many assume that since I speak Spanish I will be able to understand slang/dialects from different countries such as Cuba, Puerto Rico, etc.. Unfortunately, I have trouble picking up on their dialect at times; however, I do speak the dialect from Mexico completely! . I'm not a huge sports fan, I've played soccer and done some ballet/gymnastics when I was younger. Gymnastics was a huge burden in my opinion. It was more of an obligation rather than "for fun," which I would have liked. I spent hours on training and eventually gave up. For ballet, I was being taught at school for a "etiquette" program that my mother had signed me up for. Similarly to gymnastics, it wasn't for me: tutus and slippers. I do believe ballet is the most beautiful sport ever created, and the most difficult as well. Lastly, for soccer, it runs in the family. I enjoyed my youth playing so. I must say, I quit due to an injury I had attained while playing. My ankle fractured (after previously spraining it 2 times). My team of doctors recommended that I quit or else the next injury would affect me indefinitely.
Watching anime is a part of me. I'm a huge fan of action. I do tend to watch "romantic" or "high school drama" genres, however, my love belongs to action. If you're interested in anime and would like to give me a few series to watch, I'm more than welcomed to recommendations!
Food is so amazing! I love eating exotic and delicious sweets/snacks; however, my options are limited. Unfortunately when I was about 6 years old, I found out I was allergic to seafood! Yikes! I heard so many amazing things about certain fish-dishes and sushi, it stinks! On the other hand, I do get to try various sweets such as chocolates. German chocolate is one of the best chocolates I've ever tried! I'm always up to swapping different kinds of sweets :).
If you have a Whatsapp and would like to chat, please don't be afraid to private message me or comment below. I'd be willing to.
Alternative Rock, Country, Pop, R&B, etc. Alternative Rock; Nickelback and Secondhand Serenade. I love listening to music. Nickelback is honestly a great band to me. Everyone has different tastes though. Secondhand Serenade's music sounds so much better when it's acoustic but either way is good. The lyrics are really what catch my attention.
Country is just a love for me! Every year I watch the country music awards on television. If you love country, that's awesome! My favorite singers are; Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan.
Piano music and solo instruments make me feel at ease and calm me. If you like a twist of choreographed violin music I highly recommend Lindsey Stirling. It's one of the best Solo Performances I've ever listened to and I guarantee you will be hooked! I like Beethoven, especially when I'm doing paperwork. It makes me think and concentrate. He's one of my inspirations since I too play the piano.
Extras: Spanish/Japanese music. I am Hispanic, so it's almost in my nature to love Spanish/Latin music. Japanese, I may not know what they're saying but the words sounds really nice, haha!
All in all, I'm opened to anything.
I've read a few books on iBooks and fell in love with a series called "Peachville High Demons." Although, I must warn you they are short stories and you can finish them in a sitting. They are a must read!
For my English class I read a book called "Station Eleven." It was really strange, I did like it though. If you're interested in reading anything (for a few sittings), I'd recommend it.
There are so many great movies that have came out in the last decade, however, I must say my favorite would have to be.. I'm not sure. Sorry! I love so many that it's almost impossible to single out a specific movie. I will say my favorite movies tend to lean in the Action/Adventure/Horror department.
There are so many series that I love. Anything from Narcos to Grey's Anatomy. Some of the few shows I recommend for any who is willing to binge watch or maybe just interested in a new show: Black Mirror, The 100, Pretty Little Liars.
The few that I've mentioned are really interesting, especially if you have Netflix then you're in luck!
I love drawing. I may not be good at it (at least I don't think I am) but I still like to burn some time while doing it. I also love to have drawings of flowers and dragons (collectors).
If there is any problem whatsoever please contact me! If a letter is lost or something, please, email me and I will resend the package/letter/postcard. I want to participate more in others but I know that some are strict about the swapping reputation. Contact me if anything happens! I'll try to add tracking if it is available.
