Hello there, nice to meet you and thank you for looking at my profile. I'm taking a swap break at the moment because I'm carer for my elderly parents now and don't get much spare time as I work full time as well.

I love gardening, walking, swimming outdoors and wildlife. I love to cook but people don't always like to eat the results.

I can't drive to save my life and I'm not keen on exercise, apart from my Nintendo Wii

I am a bit of an ageing hippy and a geek. I like science fiction, horror and I'm interested in alternative lifestyles and people who are individual and different.

A big Lost fan, I was outraged by the finale, still angry now. Damn you Lindelof! (Sorry if you liked it)

Also into comics, graffitti, Banksy, zombie films, Dr Who, Star Trek, Day of the Dead, Battle Star Galactica, Inception, Ugly Betty and Oscar Wilde. In other words, I'm a bit odd....

I like to use recycled materials in my crfts an would like to create some swaps which cost nothing for materials but are full of creativity and imagination.

I have always been an activist who wants to stand up for what I believe is right. The ooks that helped form my opinions were The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists an The Grapes of Wrath.

If you are looking at my profile to see what I'd like in a swap, I'll say straight away that I'm not doing this to bag lots of expensive loot. I love hand made and meeting new people so if you send me something you've made yourself, especially if it has a personal touch, I'll be thrilled.

I also have a silly sense of humour, so watch out!

I work in an office now but when I was young, I went to art school and did some book illustration. I still think of myself as an artist and enjoy all things arty/crafty. I do craft fairs with my mum

(who can knit anything in the world.)

My favourite authors are Stephen King and Phil Rickman, who writes horror stories about my part of the world.Recently, I've been getting into Jodie Picoult, lots of food for thought, it's like arguing with each of the characters. Although sometimes I think they are too formulaic.

I like so many different types of music but it's completely random. My children say the contents of my Ipod are proof that I'm insane. At the moment I'm into Brandon Flowers, of The Killers, Dory Previn, Eva Cassidy, and I've got that phrase by Seether stuck in my head:

"Who can tell if your soul will fade at all?"
