Hi from west Texas or Nova Scotia, Canada! We have houses in both countries and I love to travel back and forth between the two.

I just hit the big 50! I'm married with 3 grown children,3 dogs and 2 cats. I'm an RN and work part-time at the same rural hospital where I met my husband, who is also an RN, 25 years ago.

I love to read! I usually have 2 or 3 books going at a time, 1 on my Kindle, 1 on my iPod, and another 'real' book. I really like fantasy, especially if it has a storyline that stretches over 2 or more books. I don't particularly care for fluff romances, unless I'm in a bubble bath with chocolates within reach.

Any San Francisco Giants baseball game that's televised! Eureka. Warehouse 13. 24. Three Stooges. Shows on the History, Science, or Discovery Channels. Televised dog shows.

I really like Firefly, Jericho, Cracker, and Third Watch. I'll watch them from DVD's over and over.

The Harry Potter films. Armageddon. The Coneheads. The Lethal Weapon movies. The Thin Man series. Wizard of Oz.

I like action and suspense movies mostly, but comedy's are good, too. Chick flicks are great if I don't need a box of tissues at the end. Old westerns and Hitchcock films will grab me every time if they're on TV.

I LOVE to craft! I'll do almost anything with textiles. I sew, and quilt, I knit for myself and crochet for charity (I have done that since the week after 9/11). I'm a scrapbook addict who will never get caught up! I also do stained glass, large and small, and have tried making lampwork beads but I don't have a kiln so I can only do that when I have access to one. I make specialty beadwork jewelry. I want to try woodworking sometime. I can't draw or paint, but then again, I have never tried LOL. The only craft I have ever tried and could not do was tatting. I ended up throwing the darn shuttle across the room!

I'm an autumn person. My favorite colors are greens and reds and yellows, like the changing leaves.

My decorating choices are leaves and trees, and, oddly enough, vegetables, since I don't like them to eat. I also like medieval and Celtic items. I love Victorian-era to Art Nouveau antiques.

I love to travel! I've been fortunate in that I have gotten to travel to Great Britain several times, and to a few European countries once. Until I married I had never been camping but now I would rather camp than stay in a hotel... well maybe if it has 4 stars! The only thing I'm picky about when camping is that I have to have water, preferably running water. Other than that I'll rough it.I want to visit Madagascar, Mongolia, and Albania.

I enjoy volunteer work. I was a Cub Scout leader for 10 years and a Girl Scout leader for 5 years (2 sons and 1 daughter) and I still volunteer at church and in the community.

I like to fish and don't even mind cleaning them, but I'm allergic to all fish and shellfish, so I can only watch while everyone else enjoys eating them. I have no other food allergies.

I like to play online games. World of Warcraft is my favorite, but I'll spend way to much time on Pogo, too.

I like to cook for large groups, especially during the holidays.

Random likes: Chocolate. Tea. Coffee. Soul food. Charms. Dragonflies. Citrus or woodsy scents. Flea markets and thrift stores. Pen pals (with actual paper and pen). Good manners in children. A capella singing. Playing in the leaves. Walks in the fog. Picking wildflowers. Dogs, all dogs, not just mine. Taking photos. Watching the waves on the beach. Yoga and bellydance. Baseball, watching and playing. Trying to work on cars. Collecting ephemera. Mixed media art.

Random dislikes:

I'm a Christian and I really dislike vulgarity. I dislike hearing casual profanity, especially in children. Licorice and dark chocolate. Asian-themed items. High heels and wearing makeup every day. Cooking everyday meals (I'm very lucky in that my husband actually likes to do that). Intolerance. I realize that's a broad area, but we all have to live here and good manners go a long way. I'll listen to your point of view politely if you'll do the same for me, but I will not start a discussion on religion or politics. Pets that require live food. TV shows with laugh tracks. Large, ugly bugs in my house. Kawaii. Southwest themes. Reality TV shows that require voting someone off. Most professional sports (baseball not included).
