I am a fifty year old wife and mother of one son living just outside NYC on long island.

I enjoy traveling, cooking, quilting, crafting, crossstitching, reading, thrifting, gardening and trying new things.

I have collected funky rabbits and santas for thirty plus years. I have amassed a large collection of cookbooks, I tend to just look for local church, school, PTA, and such cookbooks these days.

I love civil war fabrics to uber modern fabrics and everything in-between.

I wish I could learn how to crochet...I just can't get it! I will continue to blame my lefthandness on my difficulties in learning.

I am excited to mske new friends and too see what everyone else is cooking, making and trading!!!

I listen to everything from bluegrass to hard metal....I love to go see live music, whether it's just down the street for a hour or a four day music festival.

Right now, I am on a Grace Potter kick.

Cornwell, Deaver, Sanford, Grisham, I love mysteries!

I like many authors, I read alot. Pretty much if it makes the NYTimes top 20 list, I read it.

I haven't got into any of the vampire books....or anything vampire. I do have the twilight series, on the advice of a friend...we'll see!!! ;)

movies....hmmmm...I watch them, I just cant think of anything right now.

I like light hearted comedies... I saw the movie Carrie when I was probably much too young and that last scene in the movie just did me in for scary movies...

Sorta the samething with the TV as the movies...it's there, I do watch it but sometimes if my husband is out of town, it doesn't get turned back on till he returns.

I like cooking shows, quilting shows, and strangely Dexter...of course I watch it with my face in my hands and have to leave the room occasionally. ....along with Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, Californication and Weeds...yes, I used to watch Sex and the City along with the sopranos.

DVR...all the way! I do not like "live" TV...must have something to do with commercials...or..

I started out a cross stitcher ...love reproduction samplers...just love the alphabet! I really only quilt now...cross stitch has taken a back seat. I do like to sew other crafts....and I do get sucked into the latest and greatest crafts of the moment...thank you AC Moore and Michaels!

I am allergic to most animals. Horses can requirement a trip to the ER, cats just make my eyes swell shut and lots of sneezing.

I'm not sure how I found swap bot, but it sure looks interesting...I hope make some new friends and creations!
