About Me

Aarhus-based student with a big heart for the performing arts, especially theater. Originally from Copenhagen. Loving to travel, write, take pictures, drink caffeine, drink tea, bake, cook, watch TV, listening to music, listening to podcasts, learning new languages, updating/derustifying old languages, doodling.

Policy

... With Love & Care

Including a note is much likely to give you a heart; sending a note along with the swap gives me the impression that you did more than just stuffing random items into an envelope, copy/pasting random links into the e-mail, etc. before sending it off. It's that tiny difference!

Sending

I'm rarely a late sender - though it has happened. If so, it's usually within a reasonable time frame, so the delay is next to unnoticable.
I do have a tendency to do things at the last moment, though I do try to do things in good time when I have the possibility to do so.
I am by no means a flaker.

I am always certain that I can fulfill the requirements of a swap - and so far, my 5,0 average tells me that I haven't been wrong. I always try to check up on profiles and base what I send on that when I'm able to.

Receiving

If I suspect that what you sent won't reach me, I will let you know. Until then (or until the rating), don't worry.

Rating

I'm a bad rater (as in: I don't always remember to rate). I do apologize for that.

When it comes to rating me, I prefer that you contact me prior to rating me if you have any issues. There might be an explanation; I always send, and I'll happily re-send if you didn't receive anything, or if what you received didn't live up to your expectations.

Preferences

When entering a swap, I usually make sure that I have a section in my profile in the category of the swap. Please do read it - and ask if you're in doubt or have any questions!

Favorite Music

This should be a pretty eclectic/versatile thing to list - though I don't like every single artist within the genre, nor do I always like every single track/album by the artist. I tried to give a general idea of what I like here. I'm sure I'll be expanding it with time.

R'n'B/hiphop (Alicia Keys, Aaliyah, Ciara, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Missy Elliott, Will Smith, L.O.C., Mark Johnson, Østkyst Hustlers);
Jazz/swing (Jamie Cullum, Norah Jones, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra);
Rock (The Beatles, Green Day, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Extreme);
Singer/songwriter (Mads Langer);
Twostep/2-step (Artful Dodger, True Steppers);
Electronic (Pogo, Daft Punk, Trentemøller);
Classical (Mozart, Vivaldi)

Favorite Television

Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory, Sherlock, Lost, House, Ghost Whisperer, Gilmore Girls, Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Road Show, Premium Blend, stand-up.dk, Last Comic Standing, LA Ink, Brian Mørk Show, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Shanes Verden, Clement Kjersgaard, Jamie Oliver.

Favorite Movies

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Chocolat, Fried Green Tomatoes, Julie & Julia, Erin Brockovich, Miss Potter, Interstate 60, The Matrix, The Shawshank Redemption, Amadeus, Romeo + Juliet, Hamlet (1996), Sherlock Holmes, Oh Happy Day, Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera, Cabaret, Singing in the Rain, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Taking the Trash, Shake It All About, Passer Passer Piger.

As for the people, I do enjoy the magic touch of Baz Luhrmann, Tim Burton, Lasse Hallström, Hella Joof, Kenneth Branagh, Johnny Depp, Ewan McGregor, David Hyde Pierce, Sandra Bullock.

Favorite Books

Children's litterature, fairy & folk tales, autobiographies, fantasy, and cookbooks.

"'Tis" by Frank McCourt.
"Lucky Man" by Michael J. Fox.
The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
The rhymes and jingles of Jakob Martin Strid.
The stories of Shane Brox.
Tales written by Hans Christian Andersen or collected by the Bros. Grimm.
"Frk. Jensens Kogebog".
"The Book of Jewish Food" by Claudia Roden.
Various by Jamie Oliver.

As for books in specific languages, there are absolutely no musts - but languages I'm using, need to practice, or derustify respectively, are Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, English, German, Dutch, and Spanish. Books (except for cookbooks) in other languages are also welcome - they might just train my imagination or help me practice new languages. :)

Favorite Crafts

Writing, photography, drawing, baking. Do they even count as crafts?!

Anyway. That's the closest I can come up with.

Postcards

I'll leave it up to you to pick a postcard - pick something you like, or from somewhere you're interested in. Tell me about it, why you like it, why you picked it.

I like travelling - thus touristy stuff in the postcard department. Ideas for such postcards could be:
* Send me a postcard from your city, town, or neighborhood - a general postcard or from a specific sight/site.
* Do a bit of staycationing, or send me a card from a vacation somewhere else, and tell me about it - like you would have done with a friend or family member.

Something else I find curious is postcards with recipes on them. These recipes should be in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English, German, or Dutch if I should have a chance of understanding them - otherwise I will need a translation of the recipe.

Tea

My favorites are spicy herbal teas (which I enjoy drinking straight) and black teas (with sugar and milk).

I do like oolong as well.

I still have to learn how to drink green and white teas - not that I have anything against them, but I can't figure out whether to drink them with or without sugar and/or milk in order to like them.

As for rooibus (red tea), I really prefer something else - but I'm not against that one, either.

When in swaps, it would be nice to receive a personal note from you along with the tea. I find that it just makes that tiny difference from seemingly just shoving random tea into an envelope and send it off to actally seem like you have paid attention and/or put some thought into it.

Recipes

Ingredients I like to use:
* Fresh fruit
* Chocolate
* Marzipan
* Minced meat
(not necessarily all in the same recipe (though I do do a mean fruit tart with marzipan)).

Other than that, I appreciate:
* Cookies
* Tarts/pies
* Buns, rolls, and bread
* Spreads and preserves
* Meatballs
* Lunchpack munchies and goodies
* Coffeebreak munchies and goodies
* Seasonal: Summer, early fall, and Christmas (if you don't do Christmas, try something from a big day or festival in your religion/culture)
* Cheap and inventive

I have no known allergies or diseases dictating a specific diet.

I'm sorry, but I need to remove you from International Small Swaps for now, due to the unresolved 1 rating. If you do come back and sort it out, and wish to be part of the group again, please contact me. Hope all is okay!

It was sweet and totally unnecessary to send me the card you wanted to send after sending me the card you had to send. But I love it! Except that now I have that song from the Danny Kaye movie stuck in my head. :P
