Cross stitching and origami are my passions. For cross stitching, I love French and primitive designs. I also adore samplers. I absolutely hate backstitching and I now try to avoid patterns that have lots of it (most of my unfinished pieces are because of the backstitching!). Love seasonal motifs (easter, halloween, christmas, etc.).

Origami is my other passion. There is something quite calming when you start folding paper and all of a sudden you make something wonderful. I carry origami paper with me and often leave something on our table when we dine out.

Here's a few things that distract me from my passion:

Glass pendants - so easy to make and great as gifts.

Totebags - my husband thinks I need to find a support group that will cure me of my need for totebags...so hard to resist!

Fabric - love seasonal-type fabrics and also any retro-style prints.

Paper - anything that's shiny and sparkles!

Favorite TV/Movies Love True Blood, Dr. Who, almost any documentary. I still love The Simpsons and Family Guy.

Big fan of Star Wars, Harry Potter and some romantic comedys (The Matchmaker, Sliding Doors, Love Actually). Love all the Pixar movies.

Favorite Scent: Citrus

Favorite Flavor: Vanilla

Favorite Colors: Pink (any shade), blues, true red (blue-based, not orange-based)

Favorite Artist: Charley Harper

Favorite Painting: Nude Descending Staircase by Duchamp

Books: I read mostly kids lit and some graphic novels, such as, Harry Potter, The Mysterious Benedict Society, The Plain Janes, Y: The Last Man, Fables, The Graveyard Book. Any John Irving - Hotel New Hampshire, World According to Garp, A Prayer for Owen Meany.

I don't normally read romance, but I just got into the Black Dagger Brotherhood books (I do like vampire stories) and I've decided that they are Harlequin romances on crack! Good story lines and very erotic!
