Hello, I am 43 years old and disabled and have been since 2007. I have a disease called Sjogrens disease which is not that common. I have to take chemo treatments to keep that disease knocked down. I rarely leave my home do to my immune system being lowered by the chemo and my husband is disabled and is very mobile limited. I absolutely love to quilt (I machine piece, then hand lap quilt every quilt.), I also love to crochet and I am teaching myself how to knit. I love to take lots and lots of pictures and I scrap book all the time. We have two Boston Terrier dogs a male named "Hanes" and the female named "Vicki". They are absolutely spoiled rotten and think they are human I swear at times. I participate in swaps a lot with Yahoo groups a lot and enjoy them so much as it is my connection with the outside world as we don't have a lot of friends anymore. Most of the people we know either have moved away and got on with their careers or like my family lives 120 miles away. I do have 2 kids that are grown a son that is 23 years old and a daughter that is 19 years old. I am a grandmother to one grandson that will turn 1 on the 6th of November.

We just moved down to our current apartment in June of this year to get into a ADA compliant apartment and get out of a duplex that had gotten infested with rats and we were having problems with the landlord dealing with the issue. This apartment is in a secured building as well which for two disabled people is a good thing as well. We are close to my husbands family where we live now and that helps when we are both sick. I am looking forward to getting to know some new people through some new swaps. I am always looking for new swaps to get into that are simple and easy ways to communicate with others. I love to talk to others and have a lot of life experiences to tell people about. I have so much I could go into but I don't think I should go into everything in this introduction. (I credit my grandmother who practically raised me for teaching me how to crochet and quilt when I was between the age of 8 and 10. If it had not been for her I would not be able to do what I love to do today and it would be lost on my generation of my family. I did teach my daughter how to crochet as well.
