My name is Joni, I'm 22. I'm the eldest of three (hearing) daughters born to deaf parents, so sign language has always been an interest for me.

I am a full-time college student. My major is sociology but I have a concentration in religion. People fascinate me!

I love art. I love to paint and draw (although I haven't in a while, its a habit I need to pick up again). I used to make and sell earrings, but haven't done so in a while just because of schedule and money (beads and wire get expensive!) but I hope to pick that hobby up again once I graduate.

I love music. My current favorite artists: Modest Mouse, Jimmy Eat World, The Format, Neko Case, Wilco, Sufjan Stevens, REM, The Postal Service, My Chemical Romance, Jump Little Children, Iron and Wine, Dashboard Confessional, The Avett Brothers, and many, many more.

I don't listen to the radio often. Pop music doesn't really to be my thing. I love songs with mood and depth and lyrics that make me think.

I've always been a Jane Austen fan, "Pride and Prejudice" being at the top of the list. I also love the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer. "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. "Dance of the Dissident Daughter" by Sue Monk Kidd. The "His Dark Materials" series by Philip Pullman. And then I will admit that I've always been a sucker for a good romance novel.

Things I love to do: Make earrings, draw, paint, but more recently I have had a fascination with photography--things are so beautiful!

Crafts I love: Well done handmade jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, mosaics, pottery, and much more.

Designs I love: I love stars. I'm not sure how it started but I've just always loved the shape--so much so that I have a tattoo of three stars on my right foot.

Starbucks (and Bella Latte) peppermint hot chocolate, my iphone (I have no idea how I functioned before I got it), my bed--its so soft and comforting, laughing with friends, hearing music that isn't played on the radio (stuff that not everyone has heard of), spending time with my wonderful boyfriend, looking at the stars, sunsets, my cat--Paris, stars, the smell of wood and leaves burning in the winter, autumn--the leaves are so beautiful!, the color blue, and many other things :)
