I am a 40 year old woman and I have been living in the Pacific Northwest for the past sixteen years. I live with my boyfriend, a large cat (Meesha) and two guinea pigs (Bella and Cinnamon). My boyfriend is from Chennai, India so I have had the opportunity to go to India four times! For work, I am the person who does the things that no one has time for in the Education Dept. at a science museum, like taking our outreach program vans for repairs, tracking budgets and setting up meetings for people. I am a vegetarian, love to cook and bake, and I like to collect lowfat, tasty vegetarian recipes. I enjoy camping in the summer with friends. I have recently lost 55 pounds through Weight Watchers so I've been having fun buying a whole new wardrobe. I try to do my best at buying organic food, environmentally friendly cleaning products and clothing from thrift stores. I don't wear makeup and styling my hair involves combing it when I get out of the shower. I love silver jewelry and simple silver earrings with beads. I love homemade soaps with oatmeal, honey, almond, mint, etc. I prefer lightly scented lotion that doesn't have words in the ingredient list that you can't pronounce. I like dark chocolate (with or without nuts/raisins). I like herbal/fruit teas once in a while and I am not a coffee drinker. My favorite snacks are the baked Kettle potato chips with Aged Cheddar and Tings.

I love 80's music like Erasure, The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, etc. I also like Pink Floyd, Tom Petty, Cake, Sting, and world music.

I enjoy foreign films and dark comedies. My favorite movies are Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Better Off Dead and Amadeus.

KNITTING. Did I mention knitting? It is pretty much all I do in my spare time!I love wool yarn so I can felt it. My favorite color is purple. I enjoy the earth tones for yarn colors- nothing too bright. Blues, greens, creams, and browns are good. If it's soft and natural, I'm hooked. I pretty much like all yarn expect the cheap acrylic stuff and the not so fun fur yarn. My user name on ravelry is lirpa981 and you can see all my completed knitting projects. I also enjoy making jewelry, such as earrings and necklaces. I have dabbled in mosaics and I have the materials to do glass bead making but I haven't done it yet. I've wanted to explore the precious metal clay, fusing glass and stained glass window making.
