About Me

I'm in my very early 40's (can't beleive I'm admitting it, lol.) I live on the beautiful Garden Island of Kauai in the STATE of Hawaii. I have four daughters and one son. My oldest daughter will be graduating from high school this year. I am married to a fantastic guy that has been with me through thick & thin for almost 20 years! I teach Catechism (Catholic Sunday School) and Children's liturgy on Sundays. I am a stay at home mom, and a professional volunteer for my children's various activities. I love Jesus, my family and my friends. I love to give more than I like to receive.

Favorite Music

Hawaiian especially the artists: the late Israel "Braddah IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole, Keali'i Reichel; also enjoy oldies 80's music; Country: Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, and others with a similar sound. Christian singers: MercyMe, Kirk Fanklin, Point of Grace, Natalie Grant, and I just found out about the Priests. Other singers that I like are: Clay Aiken, Josh Groban, Celine Dion, etc etc etc

Favorite Books

The Story of a Soul by St. Therese the Little Flower, Mother Teresa In Her Own Words, Mother Angelica's Little Life Lessons, Dear Jesus by Sarah Young, Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

Favorite Television

Dancing with the Stars American Idol Jon & Kate Plus 8 and I am CBS soap junkie: Bold & the Beautiful, Guiding Light, and the Young & the Restless The Food Network: Paula Deen, Good Eats, Challenge (dessert ones) EWTN (the Catholic Channel): Father John Corapi, Life on the Rock, Journey Home, Web of Faith, My Catholic Family (cartoon)

Favorite Crafts

Crochet: Comfort/prayer shawls; beanies/hats; dish/washcloths; amigurumi;Hawaiian Leis; fast & easy projects. Nothing that takes months to make.

Sewing: I love to sew, but I gotta be in the right mood to do it. When I am watch out! I will sew a gazillion of something if I find a pattern and fabrics that I love!

Beading: Rosary making; earring making; bracelet making.

Decoupage: Inspirational themed signs on a wood base with various papers

Flower making: coffee filter flowers; nylon flowers; silk flower hair clips. I am definitely NOT good at making flowers out of polymer clay. But I love the look and do admire those who have that ability.

Religion

Roman Catholic We are Christians although I know some folks beg to differ. I respect all other religious beliefs.

I collect Catholic Holy/prayer cards

Likes/Dislikes

Likes: Colors: Pinks, Reds, Oranges, Greens, Blues, Browns

Christian Items: Angels, crosses, inspirational messages, vintage prayer cards, images of jesus, crucifixes

Cute Stuff: I love cat/kittens; rabbits, puppies, teddy bears, baby chicks

Yarns: my favorite is cotton yarn, lionbrand homespun, and then the regular plain old red heart yarn.

Since becoming a member of swap-bot I am getting into the postcard thing! I am liking gettig postcards from around the US and the world.

Dislikes: Any thing "dark", pagan. witchcrafty, scary, vamipires, monsters, gothic, gargoyles. Anything that disrespects God, Jesus, Christianity, the Blessed Mother, the Saints etc. Sorry I know some people like those types of things, but I like to stay in my "happy place".

Random Thougts

I like Japanese things, anything Japanese. I hope to visit Japan one day!

I love the beach, we live 5 minutes away from the beach here on Kauai.

I love coffee and coffee things. Nothing like the perfect cup of coffee to start the perfect day. Iced or hot I take it either way I can get it!

I like all things cupcakes, they are so cute!

I love coconut. The scent, the taste, the feel of coconut soaps, lip balms, and shampoos. It's all good.

I almost cried to see the dishcloths, because my mom used to make them for me and she's been gone for almost a year, and I was getting low, and thinking/missing her. You really brightened my day!!!
